lock up

Post by steverodgers801 »

I had a large number of destroyers go into upgrade mode all at once in Manila, when I go to manage to try to set them from shipyard to pierside, the system freezes. If I alt tab out and go back in the game will play again, but I cannot modify the location status of the ships

When your ships upgrade, you can't change from shipyard to pier side or from normal to any other setting. You will probably have to restart if the game is locked up....GP

Not always the case.

I routinely change them from Shipyard to pierside for auto upgrade, it frees up the shipyards

You often can change the repair mode while ships are upgrading, but you can't take them out of offline repair while they are in the minimal upgrade time window.

That sounds like a problem. Did you try restarting the game? I would try rebooting the computer too.

In addition to what wdolson suggested, please provide the following info.

1.  Screenshots of the frozen screen

2.  How many ships in total are under repair, both offline and online.

3.  How many ships in total are disbanded in Manila

Noticed something similar - in PH with number of ships under repairs.
When I wanted to change a single ship to another type of repair, the game took time to alter the settings. It might seem like it is freezed up for about 15-20 seconds.
So it just took some time. It went better when number of ships in repairs dropped.

Probably number of ships in repairs is increasing number of calculations needed to calculate various repair times goes up too much?

Definitely when a lot of ships are in repair that can happen.

@steverodgers80: Are there lots of ships in repair at that port? Maybe you just need to wait longer.

I wasn't paying attention and about 60 ships or so were upgraded at the same time. About 200k tons are being done at once.
