Is Naval Interdiction Cumulative?

Post by Dante Fierro »

Is naval interdiction cumulative? This is a question I was wondering about prior to an amphibious invasion. Whether it was better to hold off naval interdiction until the actual day of invasion, or to farm out interdiction over a turn or two prior to invasion?

i.e. When making interdiction calculations, does the interdiction value of a sea hex take into account its previous turn interdiction value, or is it calculated anew each turn?

No, it's zeroed out at the start of each air resolution phase. However, you can damage ports ahead of time in order to reduce the naval values the ports put out as it can take time to repair the ports.

Ok thanks. Yes, I've been bombing the ports selectively as well.

Also, against players, dont underestimate the benefit of killing the LW when he contests your Naval Patrols. Of course, they need good escorts. And it always has the benefit of puzzling the enemy ;). Just make sure you win the air battle...
