Where are my engineers?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Where are my engineers?

Post by Jajusha »

Ok, trying to get my head around the WA gameplay, and having some troubles blowing up forts.

Normally, i would go "just bring guns and engineers", but then i have this case.
9 Engineer batallions commited to the battle. Their CV goes into the battle (so, they really are in the field), but not only there is no fort reduction, but the icon for engineer support doesn't even show up.

So, my question is, am i really doing the smart choice putting engineers into battle?
Any ideas on What am i doing wrong here? How do you tackle forts?

Nope, still not that

Over 6 attacks over 3 weeks.
No Fort reduction, no engies commited, combat was in close range this time. Got 6 engineer SUs in the battle, no modifier shown. What, wet TNT charges?

Can you upload a save prior this battle?

I suspect it could be a high disruption values that void assault engineers.

My only Server game against PeltonX.

Feeling a bit helpless against forts in this situation.

You did drop the fort lvl every week, but it was not that far under 3 so by the next week it was back to 3.

The paratroopers have 2 shovels each I guess
