GD1938 Game 17 (Ver. 2.20b)

Post by cpdeyoung »

The British attempt to encircle Germany with her allied states has driven us to strike at three of these states.
We have attacked Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark. We carefully avoided treading on French toes, and we expect
Great Britain and Germany will be able to resume normal relations once the ill advised encirclement is abandoned.
There is no reason for this to become a general European war, which none of us want.

Japan continues its war on the Bandit Lords of China.

"As a responsible nation and neighbor to China, we cannot allow the country to be in disarry, like it is now."

- Hideki Tojo, Primeminister of Japan

The Japanese armed forces have seized Kalgan from the grasp of the Bandit Lord Yan Xishan, and are moving towards Kweisui. Also the brave forces under Count Hisaichi Terauchi, the 5th Army, has beaten back troops belonging to the Chinese rebel leader known as Feng Yuxiang, the Christian General, threatening to attack the flank of yet another Rebel Bandit lord (yes a third faction, these call themselves communists) Zhou Enlai.

Losses have been acceptabel, bandit losses have been high!

The Brutal and murderous Japanese continue their rampage in China the enormous death toll for Civilian and Soldier alike rises, but is is a price that must be paid to cleanse China of these Godless heathens.
If China can do this great thing alone, then it will triumph. But if it fails then the world will suffer the consequences of its lack of action to save the ancient people of China, what is being visited unto us will be visited unto them.

Germany pressed forward with the action against the encirclement. We were repulsed by the Danish fortifications at Copenhagen. We had more luck in the west where the cities fell, but there are still Belgian troops in action.

Germany is not desirous of a general war. We are certainly not prepared here in 1938, and would be willing to discuss peace terms with Great Britain.

Germany has foiled the British plans to encircle the Reich. Our plan to offer the British peace was changed when we saw the British units inside France, near the Belgian border. We have been careful not to tread on French toes, and we do not understand why they are so blatant about hosting our enemies.

We attacked some RN vessels which had been shelling our positions along the coast, and some cargo ships.

The Belgian troops isolated along the coast were all taken or destroyed.

Banzai!

A turn of Great news, and action. Hainan fell to the Victories Japanese troops, led by the SNLF.

The despicable Americans decided that they would ask their traders not to trade with Japan. Something they call a Moral Embargo. We are not fooled however, this is an act of aggression. We will ignore it for now, but some day, they will regret this Action.

Also in the news, the Japanese foreign minister met up with Soviet Unions leader, Stalin, and signed a pact of non-aggression. This is great news! May other countries too see the wisdom in acts like these.

Good month for the Chinese certainly in their offensive activities more invaders died than brave Chinese.

A error report Lanchow and Kweisui both 6000 structural cities both Chinese populations are both designated Colonial cities. halving their production value from 4000 to 2000 so in effect China has one less city.

This is as designed, and not an error.

I see so these are colonial cities even though the populations are Chinese, very good.

Yes, thats right. Although I can see the confusion being brought on by their name type.

What happened is this. I calculated the exact amount China should have in starting Production, and then put in all the cities you see now, except for Lanzhou and Urumqi. Later I found out I wanted to add Urumqi, which is a supply site, and Lanzhou. If I did that I would be giving the Chinese more production that they should have, so, I decided to solve that problem by making Kweisui a colonial type city, and then placing Lanzhou, another colonial type city.

Thus the total production was the same.

It is with great reluctance that Germany must announce she has declared war on France over the unwise presence of
British units on French soil. Germany has not yet taken any military moves against France and will certainly consider
a peace offer if one is proffered.

In our war with the British the Luftwaffe attacked London again, concentrating on the docks and military targets.
In the East the Wehrmacht attacked Lithuania which was filled with British agents fomenting trouble.

An artists representation of the West Front as war with France and Britain is in the offing :

It is with great reluctance that Germany must announce the Soviets attacked us in the East. We hope to allow the
diplomats to settle this one. There is no desire on our part to be at war with the Soviet state.

Here is an artists representation of the situation in the East.

And here is the situation in the West. Our troops brushed the enemy on the coast away and drove on Paris. We are
also positioned to strike Le Havre and Lille. The Luftwaffe did a workmanlike strike against the British again.

The Soviets have made peace with the Axis, and attacked Poland.

The British have taken command of all French assets as far as we can see.

The Germans did not bother with what uniform colors they faced and attacked into "France".

Japan was disappointed with the alliance that the Soviets have made with China. It mounts to something akin to a declaration of war. One can only hope that the Soviet leadership sees the wisdom in smoothing things out with Japan... or..... who knows what might happen.

Also in the news this turn, Japan has taken control of Tsingtao.

Germany has taken the northwest coast of France to Brest. She has also taken Lyon, and cut the Maginot off from the rest of France. In the East she is finding the Poles in strength, and worries that the Soviets may get too ambitious in Poland. Germany is willing to split Poland, but does not want the Soviets too far west. This will just make for trouble between these nations.

The Soviet Union has entered the war, thanks to Great Soviet people China no longer stands alone against the peril in the east. Light at last at the end of the tunnel, the Front has not moved much in the last 9 months of war, with coast being a area that China has the least chance of success due to the IJN.

Germany is battling Great Britain in Poland, France, on the seas, and in the air. The British are investing in
Bomber Command, using night bombing to attack in France. London is getting prickly with flak, which makes it a less
attractive target. The Luftwaffe attacked elsewhere with some success, but the RAF did not rise to defend British
soil so we bomber away without loss.

At sea we lost 1DD2, but sank about twenty subs, mostly older vessels.

Here is what we see of the British in the Home Isles :
