Question; Real Sound Mod Redux

Post by vince0018 »

Well firstly I should say, I'm relatively new to Panzer Corps.
And one of the first things that struck me was how good the sound effects were in game.
They really immerse me in the experience.

Anyways I decided to see if there were any cool mods available, and saw the Real Sound Mod Redux.
It's feature list looks cool, sure, however one of the first things that came to mind was,
does the game really need a sound mod? The current sound is so good.

So my question to everyone is, is this sound mod worth it?
Does it make the sound noticeably better in game? Or is it just different? Especially if I like the current sfx.
Do those of you who use it regularly recommend it highly?

Additional question to do the the -nocache and crashing.
Does the game still crash from the sound pack?
Does putting -nocache in Steam's 'Set Launch Options' work the same way?
Would using a Large Address Aware program alleviate this issue as well?

Thanks,
Vincent

Personally, I like the sound mod a lot and have used it for ages. I don't use nocache, and I have yet to experienced any problems while using the sound mod. Hope this helps. [:)]

1. Additional question to do the the -nocache and crashing.
Does the game still crash from the sound pack?
2. Does putting -nocache in Steam's 'Set Launch Options' work the same way?
3. Would using a Large Address Aware program alleviate this issue as well?

Thanks,

1. The -nocache switch is only needed when you play big custom maps or you play several scenarios without exiting to Windows.

2. It should work, although I never tested.

3. Nope.
