Sonobuoy datalinks

Post by AlexGGGG »

I have been observing my ASW patrol mission, and I found that the aircraft "owns" its sonobuoys. That is, once aircraft does RTB, it stops communicating with buoys. That is perfectly correct, as the aircraft is out of range. Now when a new aircraft arrives on patrol, it will neither communicate with sonobuoys in the water, nor drop new ones at that location, probably because it considers the area already covered by sonar.

Is that possible to have newly arriving aircraft start communicating with existing buoy fields?

Was that changed in any way in 673 (1.07 RC1)?

I was observing buoy datalink lines for a while, and aside from the fact that the lines now blink somewhat more, as if repaint takes a long time, no other change is apparent.

If no change was made, then fine. If there were some adjustments, I'd say these did not work.
