Troop Losses vs. Withdrawal

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

Troop Losses vs. Withdrawal

Post by Belphegor »

I'm looking at my last turn and I see something odd. I lost 41000 men last turn. But I didn't attack. What did happen was the Allied Italians on Corsica and Sardinia went home. It appears as though they counted as losses (might explain Other Poster's issue with high troop losses as I nearly doubled lost men) and on the following turn I suffered a severe VP penalty for those not really losses.
