2.08 is up guys :)

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

2.08 is up guys :)

Post by Lowlaner2012 »

I just done an update check through the updater and its downloading 2.08 as I write this :)

It downloaded and installed ok, but when I try to start the game it says the steamapi.dll file is missing.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

This sounds like it is the Steam version of the game. Did you buy this copy through Matrix or Steam? This should be an easy fix and we will look at it tonight.

Thanks, Rob

Yes I have a similar problem when updating the Steam players edition. Its still showing 2.0.7 ( even after a new installation from Steam.

Error message ......Unable to determine the installed version, could not get the specified values data.

Cheers.

Using the update.exe on my Matrix version and it updated to 2.08 but now won't start as it says it can't find steam_api.dll .

Please hold off on your 2.08 updates. I have just confirmed that the 2.08 release installer contains the Steam version of the game executable and not the Matrix version. We will get that fixed asap!

Sorry about that, cheers all, Rob

What is the effect if we have a PBEM++ game in progress. Do we both need to update simultaneously? And at what point, since the game is asynchronous?

Or do we wait until we are done? (which may not be that much longer considering my inept leadership allowing myself to be badly flanked)

The 2.08 game simply will not launch right now until the installer is revised. Just ignore it for now. Once you have the proper version of 2.08 there will be no impact on any games in progress of any type. Your PBEM++ game will be just fine.

Cheers, Rob

OK. Haven't tried to update yet. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't an issue updating during a game.

D'oh! If I multi-tasked less I would get more things right the first time, lol. Thursday it is.

Thanks Charles for the correction to the post. Cheers, Rob
