Like SMK said, the scenario description should have the info, if not, grab Andy's tool: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/a.edmiston/toawviewer.htm and all the info are there, without using the internal TOAW III Scenario Editor.

Note that if the scenario has a Supply Unit, then the Supply Radius is shown in that unit's Unit Report.

Now, if there are no supply units in the game, you can still figure the Supply Radius from the supply display.

If Old Supply is being used, then supply will drop to to 75% of full at a distance of one supply radius from a supply source.

If New Supply is being used, then it is more complex. The formula is 1.1/1.375^(Supply Distance/Supply Radius). At a distance of one Supply Radius from the supply source, that formula reduces to 1.1/1.375 = 0.8.

Take the example shown in the attached screenshot: The Force Supply Level is 34. 34 x 0.8 = 27.2. Note that supply drops to that level five MPs from the supply source. So, the Axis Supply Radius in the scenario shown is five (on that specific turn).

I am just about to begin a game of Russian War 41-44.

No info in the scenario description regarding supply radius, no supply units that I can find, and I am too close to the map edge to determine it from the display....

Where is it in the editor?

I tried the viewer but it crashed.

Supply Radius is set by event. If no Supply Radius event is set, then the default value is four.

Curtis,

1. How did you get the supply icons to show on every hex?

2. How fortified does a hex have to be for the on map filed fortifications to become visible?

Thanks

Marquo

1. See screenshot
2. They are all visible, 33% or more I think, also depends on the graphics mod. You should see/notice the fortified status of any hex in %.

Along the same lines sort of...

In which cases should the "high supply" option be used?
The manual is fuzzy on it. Just a general vague statement that some scenarios from previous versions may need it.
Should I assume any scenario made with version 3.x is OK and does not need high supply?
What about the scenarios in the "classic" folder?
Any way to know if a scenario needs it from the description or when first loading the game?

Also, when should the "new" supply rules be used?

I'm not sure. That was a JAMIAM thing. But I expect it only applies to some of the Classic scenarios.

You'll get different answers on that. There are some scenarios that have been identified that have supply issues when it is used on them. Same for New Turn Order. I say try it and see how it works. For sure it works fine on all of my scenarios.
