Air Transport mission message

Post by jackyo123 »

hi folks

i've a bunch of akv's, ap's and ak's at port. i try to load up a 36 plane squadron - when i verify load, i get '0 percent safety factor troop and 8456 percent cargo' and the verify load is in red.

ive tried adding all different kinds of ships, changed my plane squadrons (tried it with bombers, marine fighters, etc) and i always get the 0 percent safety on troops.

what am i doing wrong?

thanks

Nothing wrong is being done.

Look at the actual load cost display on the select troops to be loaded screen.  Do you see any troop load size cost associated with the air unit?  The answer is no because all air units occupy only cargo space, not troop space on your merchantmen.  So if no space is being used, you don't need any safety margin.

Whenever you load a unit which uses up only one type of space, troop or cargo, you will get the red message.  It is a function of trying to divide by zero.

For air units, it's 1 ship for each unit so if you're trying to load a single squadron, you only need 1 cargo ship be it AKV, AK, xAK regardless of capacities of that ship, can't remember offhand if xAKL are capable of loading. You can load them on a CV, CVL, CVE but are limited in what you may do there based on if it's carrier capable a/c type or not. Also in play would be hq of air unit as to if it's a restricted command or not. Air units as Alfred said use only cargo space not troop space. AKV's allow the a/c in the unit once unloaded to be in ready state whereas others would be unloaded in repair/maint so may take days to become active.
