small scenarios?

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

small scenarios?

Post by jnpoint »

There are some small scenarios in the game, but will there be more in the future? I like playing campaigns as well as small scenarios, but often I do not have the time to play those long campaigns.

There is a full editor so you never know what the community will come up with. We have already begun work on an expansion that will among other things add some additional small scenarios.

I enjoy smaller scenarios to learn the game and evaluate unit performance, but ultimately this game is all about the grand campaign, since smaller scenarios just cannot offer me the operational freedom I have come to love from this series.

What would be a blast to play though, would be an option to set the AI to manage designated theaters for you. It would be fantastic if you could play as an army or corps commander in an AI managed grand campaign, where you receive objectives from supreme hq.

The first edition of War in the Pacific had such an option to set certain areas to AI mode, as far as I remember that didn't work too well back then.

So is there a list somewhere of the scenarios? I didn't find any on the Products Page unless I missed them.
