RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch
Hello,
I've been pretty excited to see you guys looking into the Multiplayer issues.
I'm really hoping you guys might be able to add these fixes with the same patch.

RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch
I can relate to all four bugs there. If I remember it right you also can't see the name of the team you're viewing in the soldier screen, and the arrows that were used to brows through all teams are not there either. On the plus side you can see all ten potential soldiers in the team, something I miss in the cc5 layout.
Also, I know this isn't a bug (at least it was talked about as a feature but I'm not sure anymore) but why isn't there an option to zoom out the perspective? There is only the total map and the small, slow moving screen now, in cc5 it was a much bigger field of view, which moved fast enough for me to get a full perspective of the map without zooming out during a battle. Would it be possible to include the option to zoom out the view field to a level similar to that of cc5?

RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch
The issues I pointed out have been mainstays within every CC game.
It's the Intel you want to play the game.
Based on the amount of time that has passed since the release of the game and my original post I have no faith in matrix to either being able to fix them or accept the fact that they need fixing.
I have the feeling they are going with the theory that enough time will pass and this will be forgotten by the fans and they wont have to fix it.

Still checking the forums for most of the Matrix CC games looking for patches.... [&:]
You would hope with the new 3D CC coming soon they would want to address these outstanding issues to reassure possible customers of it that its issues will be addressed....

Look to the post regarding getting people to grab the new MP debug EXE and play. That is what will help us most with solving the MP issues (which we cannot repeat). This is the gating item on any new patches.
Cheers

6 months and counting
WoW!
If you read PipFromSlitherine's post here he states that he's finally interested in the Bugs that cause the game to crash since CCV but yet he's unable to provide you with a link to said thread for the update.
If you read the Forums on the Steam web site he tires to defend the differences in the CC games Matrix makes but yet cant really answer anything because "HE DOESN'T PLAY THE GAMES"
least we forget that EVERY MEMBER at STEAM wants the game cheaper but yet Matrix didnt put it on sale for the Christmas Holiday.
Way to go Team!
Way to build a community.
Way to build a fan base.
Way to go!
But OH Golly GEE I just cant wait for the New Engine for CC.
Which by the way looks just lke Gateway to Caen.
Things are gonna be different then!
We wont have to worry about the OLD CC Code anymore.
We don't have to worry that the OLD/USED/INEXPERIENCED/PART TIME people still making the game creating mistakes with the NEW Engine!
You know.....The ones who created the current CC games your playing.
OH BOY!,There's just LOTS! of confidence brewing within me.
Face it!
You guys are the equivalent of a Bald,Lying, Bad Breath ,Push the sell,Polyester ....... Used Car Salesman.
The one EVERYONE can picture.

RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch
We've had some good results from testers and multi-player fixes are in the works. There will be some time testing the fixes, but they should be available as a beta update relatively soon.

Will the soon to be released beta patch be just the multi player fixes that on July 21/2014 were in production and about to go out???
Was wondering on the status of GUI issues mentioned earlier in the thread???
Also what is the status of the crash bugs mentioned; air strikes, timer reaching zero and accepting a truce bug earlier in this thread that affect this game and previous Matrix CC releases???

These are new bug fixes for issues confirmed during recent testing. The client-side airstrike crash is one of them. A full fix list will be included with the patch. I believe some of the UI issues are in this as well, but I will have to go back to confirm.

RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch
This patch will be a very important thing to restore people's trust in Matrix Games. I hope you guys have nailed the most crucial bugs (crash inducing ones) as well as fixing the major ease-of-use type of UI bugs mentioned before.
Thanks for the patch. When can we expect to see it published?

Sounds promising Steve!
Finding the client-side airstrike crash is big! Hopefully shortly after the GtC patch the previous releases will get this crash fix too....
Any leads on other crashes (ex. timer, truce)?

RE: Hopefull fixes for next patch
I have to admit that I have not been following this particular thread very closely to know whether the issue I'm about to describe has been brought to your attention yet. So, if this is a repeat, then apologies in advance.
In earlier versions of close combat (up to, but I'm not sure that this includes PitF) it was possible to rename squads and crew served weapons, tanks, and vehicles in order to identify them on the battle map. This does not appear to be possible in GtC. Was this by design, or is it a bug? OOPS...I JUST TRIED THE RENAMING OF A TANK, AND IT WORKED!! SO, I'M APPARENTLY WRONG...THUS NEVER MIND!!
One other annoyance is the the relative effectiveness of the Allied AT guns versus Tiger II tanks. I have had two tigers knocked out by (6 pounder....really!!??!!) AT guns at approximately 100m ranges. I find this extremely unrealistic for the historic time frame. Yes, the ammo for the 6-pounder was upgraded significantly in the later periods of WW II, but I doubt it should apply to mid-1944.

@RD_Knights_X: About 6 pdrs being able to knock out Tigers, these 6 pdrs have a limited amount of sabot rounds, which are supposedly capable of penetrating almost any armor. The only drawback they have is that they are less accurate, which I am not sure how well it is represented in the game.
Advancing with infantry, trying not to expose the flanks of your tanks etc. should help generally when trying to overcome AT positions. Once the ATGs are detected, they are as good as dead anyway.

This issue /may/ apply to Panthers in the Fog as well, but I don't think it applies to any earlier versions. A Panthers update is still planned, though as I've said before I don't know the exact timing. One other potential crash was uncovered and fixed during the first round of testing, but it is pretty obscure and I doubt it's something most people have seen (possible crash when troops surrender and then are recovered by the original side in multi-player.)
We are continuing to test the current build.
I will have to go back through the old code trees to see if this applies to any release older than Panthers, but I doubt it.
TIMING: This depends on if any major issues are uncovered in testing, and when the update can go through all the logistics necessary for a release via the update system, Steam, etc. I wouldn't expect it for a couple of weeks, but we may be able to do a beta update (for Matrix Club member) earlier. I will look into that.
