Only five more places to drop until MWIF disappears into the murky depths of the sub-forums.

not true! MWiF is just getting closer to the zenith of wargaming brilliance.
it's the 'OTHER TOP' on matrixgame forum - it's been there for ages and will stay - forever! [&o]

(i don't have to spell the name of that game...[8D])

I do hope that you are right, Chemkid, I so want this game to reach its full potential. [:)]

Maybe a year later it will be on the Holiday Sale... and generate some new peeps.

To be honest, I don't care for what price Matrix sells this game at all.

Well you might be right. For me I think its a bad sign. If the game is selling so poorly they need to chuck it in the sales, there may come a point where Matrix just decide to pull the plug. Just doesn't sound like a great development to me.

Why should they pull the plug? All expenses are paid at the moment (books, CD's). There's only a stock of those around and that's it.

So why not get rid of that stock at a somewhat lower price? There is no commercial reason to pull the plug at all. As a financial guy, I don't see any profit to be made if you stop now. On the contrary: if the AI comes around, another round of proceeds can be cashed in and if you pull the plug now, you get losses out of not sold items. That's not a very good financial decision to make, especially with the game still being developed.

The costs of maintaining this forum and the netplay server (which is also used for other games by Matrix, I believe) are not that much. So let the programmer continue his work and see what will happen in a year or two.

Every game sold, means money in the bank...

Neither of us know the economics behind this so are just guessing. You see no issue, while I am concerned. We cannot both be right so we'll just have to wait and see.

Guys, it is the Xmas sale which applies to 4 pages of games. Discount is less than on some other titles. Don't overreact.

I don't think I am overreacting thanks. I am not sure which, if any, of Matrix "Flagship" games went on sale after a year. However, given that there is still a long road ahead to fix this game - and expected income is a factor in deciding whether that time and effort is worth it, then yes I think I have reason to be concerned by this development.

First of all the position of a game in the new Releases section has nothing to do with orders/activity. War in the Pacific has been listed there for ages and I seriously doubt they are selling that many copies of a six year old game. Plus there are a lot of newer releases listed that have a lot less activity than this forum.

So there is not much to worry about this forum going away anytime soon.

Now that is what I call a price drop! [:'(] Maybe new blood will spark a fire on this game that can take us to the WWII moon. [;)]
