automating database update requests

I wonder if setting up web interface to CMANO database and allowing players to request changes/additions wiki-style would be a good idea?

Of course it should be moderated by devs and only requests approved by them would update master DB. Potential benefits (aside from obvious - less manual labor for devs) include having history of changes with some comments, reference links, list of entries waiting for confirmation/solid data etc.

Large part of it is already present in form of Baloogan Wiki http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index.php/Main_Page, it would need adding update module (forms + delta tables + login), some interface to it for devs and (optionally) presentation history of changes on db entry page.

We put requests into a database now. I think the problem you're trying to solve though is how do your requests get done quicker. [:)]

All I an say is that providing good data and actually building stuff with it is key.
