How to post pix

Post by swkuh »

Can't upload & embed "paint" files, so how to get suitable utility to do this? Or, do I have such already in Win 8.0?

Are you talking about the one pic per post you can upload directly to the Matrix forums?  If so, be sure to click "post reply" rather than "fast reply" as the latter does not include the upload option.  If you try "post reply" you will see several format options that are allowed.  You will need to save your paint image to an appropriate format (I usually go with jpg) and then that is what you can upload here.

Thanks, j... will try, etc. Somewhere I once used something that converted paint file formats to others... will look for it again. Or, anyone?

Hi, this is an image (of your post) that I have copied into paint

selected 'file' and then 'save as', which gives me 4 options for format. .png is large but allows you to do clever things (but isn't accepted by this forum for the auto upload), jpeg is a good compromise, .bmp is too large and .gif usually loses a lot of detail (it has a very limited colour range)

click on jpeg and it'll save to that format, you can upload

Thanks, Loki100... thought it would as simple as that. Now, do I have anything to post?
