It comes with the game and is updated regularly, it goes from 1946 to 1979, any scenarios in this era are basically with this DB.

Might be a small error, but in game the Soviet MiG-17 Fresco-E has the wrong designation, should be MiG-17PFU or PM, not 17F. Also it's gun armament was deleted in favour of the Kalinigrad K-5 (AA-1) missile.

The MiG-17PF Fresco-D can also carry the K-5 missile in game but as I understand it this model was an all weather MiG-17F Fresco-C with no missiles.

Minor nitpick, but it would create a clear difference between the Fresco-D and E model.

#1472 - AAA Bty (40mm/70 Bofors x 4, FCE7 Yellow Fever FCR)

I think we have a problem with the ammo designation here, the ammo is designated as:

#1596 - 40mm/70 Single Bofors Burst [4 rnds, FCE7 Yellow Fever FCR]

They can only load the very same ammo(designation), with FCE7 Yellow Fever FCR in the name, other magazines don't work, which would mean i can only add millions of 27 round magazines.

I suppose the FCE7 Yellow Fever FCR designation needs to be removed from weapon and ammo DB entry?

Tankers with a boom can either use their boom or attach a drogue, but not both. I wonder how we could model this in CMANO, maybe make a different mount for each and according loadouts?
That would add a little depth, the player would have to plan ahead, do i want to refuel probe/drogue AC faster or do i want to be able to refuel both types.

Interesting proposal MR_BURNS2! If it can be done, all KC-135 should be able to too as a boom-drogue adapter can be fitted as mission require:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/c ... apter.JPEG
http://www.talkingproud.us/Military/Mil ... drogue.jpg
http://www.amc.af.mil/shared/media/phot ... 0B-001.jpg

As far as I know it takes about 01h30 to mount it. ( http://groupe-bretagne.fr/index.php/le- ... evolutions )

By the way, is the fuel flow really differentiated in current build?

Please note that:

#1857 and #782 - KC-135FR Stratotanker are in DB3000, not CWDB.

As for CWDB, here are some suggestions regarding KC-135 entries based on those for DB3000.

First and foremost, please note that everything below comes from books or websites, I have no first hand experience in the air, I did my best to double check things though.
So what you do have here is nothing more than pure research, nor nothing less. In other words, I've done my homework but it's all from public sources.

I'm getting super high base hit probabilities for the Brazilian #242 - R.550 Magic 2 Mk2 -- 1997 (http://wiki.baloogancampaign.com/index. ... pon?ID=242). The stats show it with a 95% Air pk. Is that right? Seems to be a bit high, and they're knocking down my aircraft left and right in a quick mission I threw together.

CWDB 1946-1979 with certain WW2 Platform Additions

Post by .Sirius »

Hi guys,
I have had many requests to add WW2 Platforms over the last year, the feather in the cap was adding platforms for the "Final Countdown" type Scenario's.
I will be adding requests which I do have logged (I haven't forgotten you guys) at a future date so dont panic, I've been busy on the day job and family life too.
I will to start de-tec all post war WW2 Platforms to early WW2 standard in weapons and sensors starting with Pacific theatre then North Atlantic.
Got a project I'm working on at the moment Command wise so this is taking up my time too

I found an error with #888 (CVN 65 Enterprise 1967-1975), CWDB build 418.

The AN/SPS-12 2D air search radar is missing. It's in the 1962-67 and 1975 versions of the ship so I assume it got dropped accidentally.

The only book I have that covers that time period is "USS Enterprise" by Dave McKay (2013). In that book the SPS-12 is mentioned as being removed in the 1980 refit.

#269 - Phantom II FG.1
#3046 - Phantom II FG.1

Royal Navy Phantoms had no internal guns, and according to DB entry they have none, yet they actually have #405 - 20mm/85 M61A1 in a mount named: 20mm SUU-23A gun pod. If they carry a loadout with a gunpod, they have even 2 guns.

From my own notes and tables compiled by years (regretably without sources now):

F-4K/FG.1 Phantom in Royal Navy service (1968-1978, from 1978 transferred to RAF). 28 planes delivered to RN and 20 to RAF:
- No external gunpod.
- No Sky Flash, only AIM-7E2 Sparrow III.
- Initially AIM-9D Sidewinder, later (from 1970?) with AIM-9G with Sidewinder Expanded Mode (not in all planes).
- RWR only from 1973.

F-4M/FGR.2 Phantom in RAF service (1968-1992). 120 planes delivered:
- SUU-23 external gunpod.
- Initially AIM-7E2 Sparrow III, later Sky Flash from 1978.
- Initially AIM-9D Sidewinder, later (from 1970?) with AIM-9G with Sidewinder Expanded Mode.
- AIM-9L Sidewinder from 1988.
- 1xMk57 Project E (American nuclear bomb, but perhaps only employed by Nimrod).
- Some 30 modified to employ central reconnaissance pod with 5xcameras, RS-700 IR linescan and EMI P391 SLAR. Pod employed 1970-1976, replaced in service by Jaguar with a similar but smaller pod.
- Matra 155M 68mm rockets pods.
- BL755 600 lb. cluster bombs.
- 500 and 1000 lb dumb bombs.
- I'm not sure now about the RWR installation date, probably also from 1973.

SPS-12 was added in 1968 and "her massive fixed radar removed" in the 1980 refit.

Confusion regarding Norwegian Storm Class boats, we have 3 Entrys under P 960:

#1006 - P 960 Sleipner - An accidental copy of #1007 - F 310 Sleipner ?? If so please delete it.

#640 - P 960 Storm - Seems alright, early version before adding Penguins, right?

#855 - P 960 Storm - Newer version with Penguin, however the norwegian wiki page mentions 6 instead of 4 missile boxes, but on the other hand i could find pictures with both 4 and 6.

http://www.regjeringen.no/upload/kilde/ ... -storm.jpg

and 4

http://static.panoramio.com/photos/large/79810093.jpg

Did they use both? Was there a later variant with only 4?

#1614 - Sea King HAS.1
#3097 - Sea King HAS.1
#1636 - SH-3A Sea King
#217 - SH-3A Sea King

Maritime Surveillance Ready Time (Surge) 6 hours, whereas ready times for contemporary Sea Kings is 3-4 hours, does it take longer to load nothing then to load torpedoes?

#3019 - Sea King Mk47 [HAS.1]
#2929 - Sea King Mk45 [HAS.1]
#3018 - Sea King Mk45 [HAS.1]
#2927 - Sea King S-61A-1

You may want to add Maritime Surveillance loadout.

I belive the reason early Hauk class carried 6 Penguins, was that they carried the Mk1 until Mk2 was
introduced in 1982 and that it was such improvement in tecnology, they mounted

RE: CWDB 1946-1979 with certain WW2 Platform Additions

it's mention of up to 6xPenguin Mk2 missiles from the start (and no mention to Penguin Mk1, but Penguin Mk2 was introduced later than when in 1977 was comisiones the first Hauk boat) in:
- Jane's 1981-1982.
- Jane's 2004-2005.
- Conway's 1947-1995.
- Small Craft Navies, by Christopher Chant, Arms and Armour Press 1992.
