DBB Updates

Post by Symon »

DBB Scen 028 A, B, and C
DBB Scen 029 A, B, and C
are updated to fix all the errors people have noted and to make the Dec 7 and Dec 8 versions substantially the same - except for start date and start date dependent data; map related locations and bases; reduced cargo caps. The website has everything good to go.

So ... DBB is unified across the two date-centric scenarios and they all include "everything": all the new bases and Devices, TOEs, OOBs, and deployments for the Dutch, Australians, New Zealanders, and Philippinos.

So long as there aren't any "oh, crap" things, this should be a stable scenario set for another year or two.

FYI, John 3rd, the edit basis for all this is DBB Scen028C, which is the edit basis of the files I sent you for you mods. Nothing done here should require any additional work on your part, except perhaps the fix for Jim Burn's issues with those 5 Indian Brigades. Fix for that is simple, and is detailed in the DBB Errors post.

Have fun. JWE

The big question, can any of this be fixed in ongoing games or is a complete restart needed to get the updated databases to work? If a restart is needed, then is enough stuff fixed/changed that you'd recommend dumping a game started under the June databases?

Are we simply going to run into more and more issues with that June database so much so that we should just throw in the towel and start anew?

If you were on DBB-B or C, v013, things should be workable. A couple things might not “take” right away, but it should be no different than playing through the original errors. Not enough changed to warrant dumping a v013 game and starting over.

If you were on v012b, the changes to the minor nations OOBs are pretty extensive and will require restart.

John, I was looking at dutch forces on Timor and there is only one unit present at Koepang. It is the Timor CDO unit. The Australian detachment of 4 Hudsons is based there as well, but with no aviation support. Is this the way it was intended? Also Denpasar does not have aviation support so the air bridge from Australia to Java is cut at the start of the game. I believe this is the same in allof the DBB mads A-C.
