Op SF Bases; in Mem

Post by Symon »

Quick note on Op SF. Sam Apicelli is getting it done very nicely. But there are many new bases in Australia and New Zealand. There is one such new base on South Island, where the roads come together inland - hex 103:193. Technically, it should be Queenstown, but the hex area includes Lake Wanaka (not shown on the map). At the southern end of the lake is the township of Wanaka.

This is-was-is the home of Desmond Wallace (DivePac). He was a great friend and brother, and darn near a plank owner for the AE title. One of the best of people for all seasons. One that humbles you and makes you wish you could depart from this life with his courage and grace.

So the new base in hex 103:193 is called Desmond; and to hell with historicity. Philosophy has it that one is never truly gone until the last person that remembers has passed. So as you access base Desmond, remember.

Ciao. John

I suggest the name change, and reason, be put in the scenario notes.
