Still don't work. I know I'm doing something stupid as usual.

You know, that 6/7/14 date bothers me, I updated the beta much more recently than that, to the 1123x10 version.

edit: I guess that's the last date that Michael touched it.

The dll does not need to get changed each time. It depends on what he changes in the main exe.

OK, I think I see the problem - thanks to your screenshots! You do not have all of the required Tracker files in there. You have a zip file, but I'll wager that you never extracted all of the contents out into the Tracker folder.

Wait wait - I was fooled because you do not have extensions displayed. Wait for next post.

Geoff,

Make this batch file and run it. See if it gives the same error. Unless my eyes are deceiving me, it should be looking in the very same place.
dir "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java"
pause

Amend it to this:

pause

OK, you're asking me to make a batch file. I'm not sure I've ever done that before. I'm going to try by opening the tracker batch file, backspacing til everythings gone, then writing what you just said.

I do type "pause" which is preceded by a space, correct?

So, I "made" that batch file but don't know how to run it. Forget all this, I'm a gorn, I don't know what I'm doing.

OK. Did you see Young Frankenstein? "Put the candle back!" Put the Tracker batch file back the way it was.

PM me your email address. I will email you a batch file; after you save it you will run it by just clicking on it (just like you do with the Tracker bat file). The only purpose of the bat file is to see if the java.exe is actually located where the Tracker bat file is telling the system it is.

done. I found my old version of Tracker in the "tools" folder in the game folder and tried it. It failed too.

Ok, I decided to remove the two versions of Tracker I had and reinstall it. I also decided to follow the directions this time. [:D] Still doesn't work but I know why. I need a 64-bit pwsdll.dll file. Anybody know where I can get that?

I've been reading about it here:

tm.asp?m=2236936&mpage=39&key=64%2Dbit&#2390972

There is no 64-bit pwsdll.dll, there's a way to get it to work on a 64 bit system, I'm just not getting what it is yet.

OK, I haven't heard from Kris for a week. Hope there's nothing bad that's happened but I think this thread is done. I will soon begin a new AAR involving 821Bobo. I still haven't got Tracker to work but I think I'm close. I've sent him turn two so I can begin reporting.

I just got word from Kris, he's been trapped on an oil rig. He's not sufficiently in control of his time to pull off a campaign but hopes to in the not too distant future.

If it's offshore, he's probably literally trapped there.

I hate that word. It means as it is (was) written. If it wasn't written it wasn't literally. And if it was written, it wasn't necessarily factual. Like "Moby Dick". When most people say "literally", they usually mean "actually". There's nothing wrong with "actually". Or "in reality".

Oh, by the way, his HQ now and home is in TX.
