Door Kickers

Post by Ranger33 »

Here is a title I think a lot of you guys might enjoy, it was released from Early Access today. I've played since the alpha and I'm so pumped to try out the final version. It's a bit like the planning phase of Rainbow Six taken to the next level, similar to Frozen Synapse.

This game is going to have virtually unlimited replayability. There are already dozens of maps, which can be played in all sorts of game modes, a random mission generator, campaigns, a map editor, and mod support.

Launch Trailer - Shows off all the numerous features

I don't know? The trailer shows the team killing everyone insight without any casualties. That would be really boring.

If it is a first person shooter it is crap for me.

Think of that trailer as just showing off the action Hollywood style. I honestly haven't reached any of those massive levels shown. The starting maps are only a couple of rooms and a half dozen bad guys, which is tricky enough. By the time you reach the slightly more complex maps things get quite difficult, you have to consider every angle or you will lose guys for sure. Your men can only take a couple of hits before they go down.

This is a much slower paced game when you are actually playing, compared to the trailer.

@Twotribes: You are in luck! It is not a first person shooter at all.

One of the best if not the best early access game i bought into, they have added so much along the way. I just read the notes, sounds like multi-story buildings are in.....wow... this game will stay on my hard drive for quite awhile. If you remotely like what you see in the video's .......BUY IT[:D]

I don't buy all the wargames I want, I just buy more than I need.

First rate game. Well worth buying. This and Ultimate General are two wargames on Steam that are must own.

After playing a few hours of the release version I can't recommend this game enough. Tons of fun, especially as you get to the harder missions and have to mix up your tactics.

The campaigns are very challenging; you have to complete a series of missions with only your eight officers. I played in Iron Man mode which disables restarting missions, obviously making things quite tricky if you lose a few men along the way. There's so much variety to the missions: straight up kill the bad guys, rescue hostages, disarm bombs, escort VIPs through an area, arrest crime bosses, drug house raids, and maybe one more. Then you have to decide whether to go in with breaching charges and guns blazing, or being stealthy and picking locks, or a mix of the two. Lots of fun tactical decisions!
