Hi Folks,

Just an FYI - I tried the beta last night - it crashed on me within an hour if use - that big red "X" that covers the entire map display... I was running that new Med scenario in the Mods directory...

Make sure that if you are using a community scenario, you rebuild the scenario in the editor. If there are any significant changes to the db between builds, it can cause crashes.

Hi everyone,

The public beta system is the same one we use for all our games. We know it works and works well for a lot of customers. However, it's a two step process and if you haven't used it before it can be a bit confusing. The posts above explain what you need to do in more detail but in short:

1. Register your copy (if you purchased while logged in, you are automatically registered and can skip this step)
2. Go to the downloads for Command and click to download the latest public beta.

Once an update goes official, registration is not required to access it. It is then available through our normal public FTP as well as automatically through the game menu "Check for Updates" program.

We have plenty of bandwidth on our side and our servers are stable. Typically any download issues will be specific to your ISP or the internet conditions between your system and our servers. The Members Club download servers are based in the US with mirrors in Europe. Outside the US and Europe, download speeds will likely be slower, because of the realities of the internet.

The beta update should also be on Steam. We post them here as well as Steam for games that are in both stores. Typically, you need to select the "beta" branch for the game in order to get the beta update.

Just switched over to this beta, got it from the Matrix Member´s section.

Playing it for an hour now. No crashes, and the sound crackling seems to be gone.

I too have been playing the beta. It looks to me like zooming in/out and moving around the map is a bit faster. Can that be true? Or have I been drinking too much again? [:D]

I can't download it my dap tells me it it can't download and will try to download at regular speed,nothing happens,
Tried again and got mess.that I was disconnected at the source,try again later.
Disabled dap and tried to download using windows default download app.
Got message the file could not be downloaded,no explanation of cource.
Earlier queries got responces that they downloaded successfully,good for you I CAN,T.
But I guess that's my problem I paid 79.00 for a game I cannot update thank's.

An alternative would be to register with steam. You just need to download their software and follow the process above.

You could also wait a bit. This is just a beta but once it moves to a full release you can just hit the update button on the launcher.

I have had trouble downloading before but eventually after numerous attempts it will suddenly work.
Not this time.Yes I disabled av.
As for steam I purchased physical version from matrix how do I register it with steam.
I already have steam installed purchased pike and shot from them.

I'm a bit confused with version numbers, Some are called like "update 1.05" , while others are like "build 507". Whats the difference?

Spookyashell, update 1.05 is build 570 and update 1.05.2 is build 573

Each version is given a sequential number when they get produced (the build ###) and you may see that mentioned even before it hits when something is fixed in whatever version being worked on. Some numbers may still be in beta, but you can get hints of what is coming up and some beta's are available to all on this forum.

When a version gets released to the patcher it gets an Update 1.05 etc number.
