If you order a barrage on a field, also occupied with your own men, do they harm?

Yes, artillery and airstrikes can take out friendly forces in a hex. Same goes for chemical weapons and nukes.

However, what's irritated, troops on call, often fire on places with their own people. [:(]

In some cases, targets move or friendly forces move into the wrong spot. Human error and bad luck can happen.
