WWI - The War at Sea

Post by Zorch »

There are 3 new WWI War at Sea Books - anyone have an opinion on them?

The Great War at Sea: A Naval History of the First World War - Lawrence Sondhaus

Fighting the Great War at Sea: Strategy, Tactics and Technology - Norman Friedman

To Crown the Waves: The Great Navies of the First World War - Vincent P. O'Hara (actually this is from last year)

This is one of my favorite topics to read and to board game! [:)]

For those of you who have not read this book, I highly suggest it. Halpern writes about all aspects of the naval war, not just the 'glamous' and 'exciting' bits. Its very comprehensive, highly educational and very well written, IMO.

Mine's got a different cover! But yes - another useful addition to any WWI naval library.

So many books and so little time. [:)]
