What's your take on PoA 2.5.07?

For those in the know regarding HPS Point of Attack 2.5:

It takes forever for me not to load a save game, but just to get a list of saved games to load. It's a function that takes the most demanding games no more than a second or two.

Yes, I know how "complex" the game is. But I'm really starting to feel that it's simply poorly programmed and optimized to have to wait several minutes for a save game list to come up.

What is the verdict on this thing? Should I just give it away like I did with Tigers Unleashed?

I wonder if it is searching all drives and waiting for an io time out on a dvd drive with no disk in the drive. I do not know anything about the game by the way.
