SSG is back ?

Post by Charly G »

The 29th of this month, Roger Keating will be making an announcement: http://www.ssg.com.au/forums/viewtopic. ... 2&start=30
I've played many games from SSG and I always like them. I hope some very good news and I think I'm not the only one.

I only didn't mention the Battlecry RTSes because they've already received modern rereleases on GOG, but otherwise those are also excellent games on their own right, second only to the Kohan series.

I am hoping for a wargame. Perhaps a follow up to the Decisive Battles series.

SSG does not own the Warlords franchise.

And for gradenko_2000 , Warlords III Darklords rising runs fine in Win 7 and 8.1, with some modifications: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=29475

I thought SSG was dead and gone. Wonder what they have to announce? Their Decisive Battles Overlord/Ardennes Offensive game was one of the greatest ever. I've played it countless times.

The time has come the Walrus said ... and now I shall begin on an amazingly short announcement that will probably be a disappointment to some and an opportunity to others.

SSG is pleased to announce that we are working on the release of a hex-based war game and will be scheduling a major announcement in the next couple of months.

What we want now is help in perfecting this game for the enjoyment of those who will be playing it. If you feel you are up to the challenge of making an impact on the finished game please send an email to roger_keatingAThotmailDOTcom specifying a few things about yourself:-

• your interests in the gaming world
• why you want to test this product
• your history with SSG games

I will then get back to you.

Regards,

Roger Keating,
C.E.O.
Strategic Studies Group Pty. Ltd.

Not much to go on yet, but "hex-based" wargame sounds good - of course! [8D]

Well I hope the experience SSG has with fabulous titles, they will be able to make a game worthy of their reputation. I'm not sure of the team they used to make the old titles is still intact but i give them kudo's for giving a new title a shot [;)]
