Some rash speculation about the super partisan unit -- since you're almost to the 1941 border, is it possible the remaining partisans are being concentrated because they have only a small amount of room?

Has Stef tried to engage that monster partisan "battalion" in battle?

That's an interesting theory and could be the explanation. Only morvael would be able to maybe explain this.

Stef is done fighting the partisans. He did engage some 6000 men units earlier but his losses where not any different. It seems to me that partisan warfare is totally random. I am not a fan of this system.

Bugs related to partisan units growing without limits are solved in 1.08. This was mostly due to those units being ignored by damaged element resolution procedure.

Thanks for explaining this. Another question regarding partisans. Is there a specific reason why the Axis sometimes occurs enormous losses against regular sized partisan units? Sometimes Axis units can lose up to 2000 men.
