2.11 - The Subunit view at the bottom of the screen now shows hard kills if the subunit name is red.

could the same be applied to the TOC/Force Roster

Tazak, it was a thought when I was doing the subunit panel, but I did not want to mess with trying to rig code around the hyperlinks in the force roster. Plus we plan on having icons in 2.1 to denote state in both areas.

4.1 Direct Support (DS)

Believe DS still not working but noticed this, I assigned 1 arty Bty per tank battalion. Appears that all arty shifted DS to a single unit but not sure when

2.18 Scooting/Standoff Range/Resupply AI Logic
1 rifle section and 1 HQ section managed to keep 2 tank coys supporting inf coy from resupplying (yes I should have moved 1 or more units back 1 to resupply but wanted to see what happened).

This carried on until I destroyed the HQ section and the inf section moved away 3 hours later despite the HQ & inf being low ammo and lowish morale/readiness

Tazak, do you any save games for this point in time or earlier that shows them low on ammo but not resupplying?

That DS behavior is very odd and shows a bug in arty orders AI. If you happen to have a save game for this, that would help us a lot.

I forgot to check autosave was on, only caught it and saved from @73% but both issues should be in the attached save.

not finished yet

2.10 SAM and other Light Units Killing Tanks

04:08 1/2/57th Gds Tank Rgt in 1815 engaging 1/632nd Recon at range 521m.
04:08 1/2/57th Gds Tank Rgt claims 1 Jeep MG KIA in hex 1716
04:08 1/2/57th Gds Tank Rgt suffers 1 T-80BV [m] KIA in hex 1815
and:
04:08 2/R/57th Gds Tank Rgt in 1124 engaging 4/2/532nd Jager Bn at range 326m.
04:08 2/R/57th Gds Tank Rgt claims 1 M48A2 GEA2 KIA in hex 1024
04:08 2/R/57th Gds Tank Rgt suffers 1 BRDM-2 [g] KIA in hex 1124

I think the BRDM2(g) vs M48A2 may be okay but the jeep MG killing a T80BV is iffy - saved game attached

A couple more observations:

Appear working:
2.8 Counter Battery (CB) Fire not Working - might be a bit OTT now, killed 17 out of 18 M109A3
2.20 ATGM fire at Infantry Squads - watched a BRDM2/AT4 sat 1km from an infantry platoon receiving incoming fire but not firing back
2.11 Revised Falling Out versus Destroyed Subunit - soft skinned vehicles seem to suffer more destroyed than fallen out, tanks appear to suffer slightly more destroyed than before. Over all appears to be in line with what you'd expect in combat.
2.14 Excessive Weather/Visibility/Time of Day Dialogs - much better

Not convinced/might need more tweaking:
2.12 Artillery Fire not getting Kills - 1 battery of 2S3M achieving far more kills than 2 batteries of 2S1 combined, it does appear that soft skinned vehicles are more susceptible than tanks but the kill ratio seems heavily skewed towards larger calibre.

Tazak, I believe Rob added the red text to the Force Roster. I need to verify tonight. Dialed arty back a step as well. May see if we can get a beta2 out tonight or tomorrow. Resupply was working as coded, but your scenario and the odd low ammo plus high readiness and close proximity to the enemy is locking those units out of a resupply via AI. I'm going to look at a fix for this tonight. Also look to remove DS from the orders list since it appears to be failing to get arty orders into the queue.

Thanks for the inputs. Really helps us lock down the issues.

Least I could do after the amount of effort you folks at OTS put into this game, like the "to watch for list" gave me something to do while playing or even create certain situations while playing to test things.

a custom colour (set within the map editor) keep the custom colour, except with the roads.

for example:
change colour to red, the word road are drawing with red colour but a new hex tile with white colour. force a redraw and the colour is red.

The elevation issues I noticed with Red Storm 4 have been fixed but the elevation issues I reported here with Red Storm 10 are still there though.

2.9

Post by WABAC »

2.9

British and American explosive devices are now at accuracy 5 each. Grenades and satchel charges are now at accuracy 3 each for the continental powers. Guessing this is closer to intended as they had been 1 and 3.

Units of type INF-MG and INF-AM seem to be defaulting to crew size of six. I did not understand the note in 2.9 about sections in the team. Does this mean a crew of six for Soviet AT3, 4, & 5 represents two of the weapons on the unit page?

German and Soviet MG data seems smoother and in the ball park with the differences now limited to range. The US still has two M249 with with same ranges, different dates, and different SA values. If these are actual variants please show the user different names to denote the difference.

The ISW M16 still looks off to me. Not sure why the addition of a bipod would rate it an SA of 3, which makes it more effective than the UK 5.56 L86A1 -- if that is the L86A1 at ISW3 on the UK unit page. Neither has a changeable barrel. And the changeable barrel seems like the natural separator given the current SA scale. The M60 gets no respect. It has a changeable barrel but only rates an SA of 2. Someone more knowledgeable than I will have to make the argument that it deserves to be changed.

Accuracy ratings are now fixed for weapon class. Should have been that way from the start. There are a few duplicate weapons in the list. They should have been screened out by the code I did. For now we will let them stay. I will be revamping all the data for 2.1 and can work to get all the duplicates out of the system.
