Few questions abouth some rules.

Post by AlbertN »

A- Embarking from Sea:

It happened during the evacuation of the BEF from France that UK sent ships to the North Sea to embark from sea the BEF units.
IF only a transport ship (or the Queen) was sent, the function "Load from Coastal Hex" worked.
IF both the transpot AND escort ships - or both the transport and the Queen were sent, the "Load from Coastal Hex" gave no result by being clicked.
Is it a bug or is it normal?

B- Vichy'ing France.
To put it simply, is it asked every turn to the Axis nation having a unit in Paris, or is it asked only once and then one either goes for it or forfeits it?

C- Narvik Special Rule?
Is there anythink like that? I think in a list of "tutorial" videos in the make there was a mention and I wonder what this would be.

A. Cohen not sure if this is what you mean but I will have a stab at answering. If you have more than one TRS/AMPH/QUEEN you have to click on the TRS/AMPH/Queen you want to load the unit on before you load i.e. the computer has to know which TRS or AMPH or Queen is being used.

B. No, each turn the condition is satisfied it will ask

C. What do you mean - special in what way?

For the Narvik thing - I've read of it mentioned in the Monthly Update post - the last post related to the September updates on the shape of the game development progress!

And about the transports, the problem is that it happened also when only the Transport + an escort group was sent out (thus a mix of carriers, and surface ships. But I could guess as SCS can also embark divisions that is the possible problem. I've to test it out).

I am pretty sure it will work then so long as you click beforehand.

Re Narvik, the only rule I am aware of concerning that port specifically is that in Blizzard or Snow, the Germans can only ship the Swedish resources through the Baltic if Narvik is not controlled by the Allies.

The Narvik rule is well hidden in the Iced-In Ports section of the Weather Rule.

If the Germans can ship it through the Baltic ... that is not really an issue then, isn't it?

At least the reference only occurs once. There are other rules with parts in one place, other parts... in other places. [&:]

So did you test the TRS and does it work?

I doubt I've ever paid attention in my few games - but never noticed a drop in resources during Winter, and Norway usually is not invaded by the Allies either in early war.
As I play multiplayer only with my friend, we've not got yet to '42 even. The only '41 game we got, the save got corrupted and we had to restart after summer break.

The rule is that the Germans can't ship it through the Baltic if the weather is snow or blizzard and Narvik is Allied controlled.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

No, I meant did you get the problem with the TRS sorted?

It depends on wether the Brit has bought those 20/21 range navals, in my current board game he just destroyed or aborted my three convoys with one of his navs, and the Ge player is usually too busy in land operations to make naval moves, and in my case, having corsairs (are there in MWIF?, I believe not) and having to transport units by sea sometimes, it's not so easy.

A - There were several bugs with loaded transports that I fixed in the most recent version (available as a Public Beta, version 1.2.1.5). This is likely to become an official release this week or next, depending on feedback on the Public Beta.

B - Asked every turn that the conditions are met.

C - Others have answered this, but there is a short discussion about Narvik in Tutorial Video #14: Production Planning Practical Examples. That video will be included with the next official release.
