OT Marshall memoir

Post by btd64 »

Hey guys, Does anyone know what steps to take to find out if a memoir is genuine? Today I stumbled across what was advertised as an original memoir written by Marshall during the Spanish American war. If I can get it authenticated, i'm going to pick it up....GP

Carbon dating would authenticate the time period.

Probably 90% of these "found" documents from famous people are fakes.

Marshall was a student at VMI during the Spanish American war, so I don't know that his memoirs of the time would be particularly interesting unless you're interested in college life of the 1890s. He received his commission in the Army in 1902, and saw his first service in the Philippines.
