2.04 Error popup on View Map Markers

Post by battlerbritain »

Hi guys,

Just a minor one with v2.04:
In a scenario setup screen I hit 'View Map Markers' and got an error popup.

This was with the new Tazak British Campaign going into Scenario 2.

It you get this error again, hit "send bug report" and send it to me at crbelva@comcast.net

Please give as good a description as to what you were doing when the bug report was triggered. I will make sure Rob get it.

battlerbritain,

Is this error happening when you use the new Hide Map Markers (the one under Hide VP markers) in the View Menu?

I got a VP map marker related bug, too. I fixed it by copying the Map Markers folder to another location:

1. Make a new folder in the "Matrix Games\Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm" folder and name is "Assets"
2. Copy the "Map Markers" folder in the "Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm\AutoPlay\Assets" folder and paste it into the folder created above.

Jeff, can you post a screen shot of the folder structure with the assets folder in autoplay?!?!?

Here it is. The Assets folder that is highlighted is the one I added.

Here's the bug report that prompted me to do that.

The relevant line from the bug report:

exception message : Cannot open file "C:\Matrix Games\Flashpoint Campaigns Red Storm\Assets\Map Markers\VP_Y.png". The system cannot find the path specified.

cbleva: email sent with bug report and screenshots.

The problem I have with sending a bug report by email is that my system tries to compile an email using Outlook, which isn't installed! :(

I only ever use web-based mail.

But mail sent anyway.

And yes, I was using the 'Hide Map Markers' menu option.

Hope this helps,

B

The Hide Map Markers is bugged and will crash as battlerbritain is seeing. We have that fixed and test for 2.05 patch.

More disturbing it Iron Mike's folders. Something very not right about that. All Map Markers should be in the main games Assets folder in a folder called Map Markers and that folder should have a "Custom" sub-folder. All map markers need to be in the game/assets/map markers folder and the three custom markers from Plodder will be in the custom sub-folder.
