Post by Tazak »

Maps in the Custom map folder are not available in the scenario design screen (Set Key Scenario Parameters:)

Tazak, just checked my system here and custom maps are loading fine. Are you saying a new map (IE custom the sense of not an OTS map)?

Tazak, I am not sure what you are talking about either.

Just try and have the same issue. Maps in the "Custom" folder are not available in the scenario editor. I replaced original "Red Storm 1" map (both files: png and fp9) from "Map" folder to "Custom" folder, run scenario editor and found that "Red Storm 1" map is not available

I can load custom (user made or OTS originals) from the custom folder when playing a scenario.

If I want to edit that scenario, the map does not show up in the map selection (see pic). I have to move the map from the custom folder into the main folder.

Just to clarify:
1). Keep all of the original maps and fp9 files in the maps folder.
2). Replacement maps and FP9s go in the custom folder.
3). In order to show up, the custom map in the custom folder must have the same name as the one in the maps folder for the custom map to show up.

Check the names and locations. If the issue persists, please post screen shots of the two folders. We'll check it out this evening when we have a developer call.

Thanks.

Ah, this likely a wording misunderstanding. I was taking "Custom maps" to mean non-OTS made maps rather than a remake of an existing map

Still think there might be an issue here, I can move all maps into the custom folder leaving the map folder empty and any scenario will still launch, but you cannot do the same under scenario designing screens.

I've moved all maps to the 'Custom' folder and can launch any scenario fine even though there are no maps in the 'Maps' folder. However exit the scenario and go directly into the editor, you can still launch any scenario for editing but it does not "see" any maps

We will check it out this evening. Sounds like something is going on. And to be more clear, a replacement map in the custom folder should load for a scenario and in the editor in place of a OTS or new map in the maps folder.

I don't have that problem. All the custom maps in the custom map folders are loading just fine for me.

Charles, is that from a clean install or the svn version? I'm going to check my clean install version when I get home.

Tazak, My game install works fine. One question. You are pointing to CA 1 Red Storm, do you have a CA 1 Red Storm custom map. That is not the same as Red Storm 1. Also, if you do, is the name exact? Gotta cover all the bases here.
