Will you also create a changelog?

The website is kinda vague about the differences(or RA vs. stock vs. DBB) and I doubt many want to go through all the dozen or so forum threads or compare the scenario files in editor.

RA 7.0 is the EXACT same Mod as 6.7 with the only change being the weakening of the French Fleet presence in the South Pacific. Ended up leaving a CL and 3 Dds at Tahiti as well as the AS and two SS. The other French ships that started are now joined to the Strasbourg/Dunkerque group creating a powerful STF arriving at the end of April 42.

The entire website will be re-worked. I need to create separate pages for each of the Mods with detailed descriptions, change logs, etc...

I have sent RA 7.0 to Michael, DOCUP, and Gen Patton. Does anyone else want to check it out before I release it?

Sorry to everyone for disappearing for a year (again). As I see, there was a tremendous progress in modding since I last read this forum, and I'm now trying to catch up with it. But I don't see the newest mods on the Reluctand Admiral download site, which still only has 6.7. Would anyone care to send me the completed files for the three new mods?

OK.

Great Progress:
1. Scenario 45 "The Treaty Mod" is now available and unloaded onto the RA Site.
2. Scenario 50 "Reluctant Admiral 7.0" is in the same state. Jump in and have some fun!

I will have Between the Storms ready within two days. It shall be Scenario 55...

A few notes based on looking through 7.0.2 so far:

(1)KD8 sub class is classified as SST, instead of SS. Don't know if that might cause problems with combat resolution.
(2)There are a couple transports at Home Islands, heading alone and unloaded into the Pacific. Probably they should be disbanded into ports.
(3)It seems that the devices' file was entirely lifted from DBB. Which, at least, turns pom-poms into near-Boforces and makes every plane built against a big cannon unusable for anything beyond pilot training agaon.

Stanislav,

Good to hear from you.

We have moved completely over to the DBB as a template. JWE did a monstrous amount of work to import everything from 6.7 into DaBabes so we could then move to 7.0. In many ways 7.0 does not have any real changes to the last variant it simply fully embraces DBB. We wanted to do that so then Treaty and Between the Storms could then be built. Michael and I wanted to have fully fluidity so each of the Mods could see simple transitions and be fully compatible within ONE install of AE.

(4)Another bug note: N1K2-J is marked as carrier capable, which certainly must be an error. The presence of N1K4-A already makes George the god-king of IJN fighters, getting a carrier-capable rocket 8 more months earlier is just an overkill, unless PDUs are off or plane acceleration is forbidden by HRs.

While the decision to use DBB device stats or not is yours, I just found prudent to note that this will make things, particularly in terms of what airplanes are remotely worth building, markedly different compared to, IIRC, three last major RA versions.

Thanks FatR. Made some changes based on your commentary.

I went through and changed the RA CLs to a Treaty Mod base:

1. Tenyru and Kuma are converted to ML.
2. Kitakami, Oi, and Kiso are converted to Training Cruisers.
3. The Nagara and Sendai Classes are the same. As per Treaty there are two additional Sendai added.
4. The Tokoro Class are the new class of Japanese CL that are a scaled down Mogami (3 3x3 6" and 3.9" Secondary). These begin to arrive in the Kaigun in late-1940. Three are in commission with one attached to each KB CV Division at war's start.

Will move on to changing the Kinugasa/Furutaka Classes to 6" CLs and returning the Mogami's to their original 6" armament.

This took far longer tonight then I planned. Should be able to finish the other class changes and add the CLV/CAV, BC, and other ships tomorrow.

Glad to be of service. Would you mind if I suggest a couple of minor tweaks based on new things I learned about IJN since I last visited? For example, my earlier change of Matsu/Tachibana-classes torpedo armament was wrong. Japanese indeed had plans to install a six-tube torpedo launcher on it, but it was supposed to be for 533mm torpedoes, not Long Lances. I also accumulated some new data on planned and actual armament of a number of lesser-known Japanese ships.

We could certainly do that once I have the changes to Between the Storms complete. You would have to make the changes to both the RA and the BTS files. Guess I could send the RA files now and you could get those done and then I send BTS when it is complete later this week.

Hi Stan. Yes, there will be 'some' airplane data that's tweaked, but one needs to look at the extent of the tweak and how it relates to the other airplanes in the database. And look seriously at Alt, Climb, Speed, Mvr Bands. Yesterday's 'gotta have' may not work with today's airframes, but why, in the world, should someone be forced into yesterday's nonsense just because it is WiTP Stock Canon? There's Gold in them 'thar hills. [;)]

Back to work. Am going to re-tool the standard Japanese CAs into a Treaty Mode and THEN shift them to reflect the RA changes (mainly 3.9" secondary).

Have gotten all CAs and CLs taken care of. Am now moving on to the 'new' Japanese ships built in Treaty Mod: 1 BC, 1 CVL, and 2 CAV.

Got all the Japanese done and created. Looks GOOD!

Tomorrow will see me create the new Allied ship classes and then add the new wessels. Once those are done and placed, we'll then shift over to creating a CRAPLOAD of air groups for all the new ships.

Should have that done tomorrow night.

Michael and I talked tonight and came up with some additional stuff that needs to be done/added:

1. A recon version of the Kate that upgrades to the recon variant of Judy.
2. Some ground work with Allied units.
3. Adding the Aussie DDs, an AS, and 2 SS.
4. Chatted about those Japanese AMC that start WAY down SW on Dec 7th.

Are there other items we've discussed that I have forgotten?

Got a little work done before having to go to work. Have been playing with Japanese starting deployment.

Current dispositions:
KB-1 (Etorofu) CARDIV1--Akagi, Amagi, CAV Tokachi, BC Ishitaka
KB-2 (Etorofu) CARDIV5--Shokaku, Zuikaku, CAV Kushiro, BC Kongo and Kirishima
KB-3 (Babeldoap) CARDIV2--Hiryu, Soryu, CVL Ryukaku, BC Haruna and Hiei
KB-4 (Takao) CARDIV3--Ryujo, Zuiho, and Shoho
Escort Carrier TF (Saipan) CVE Hosho, Ibuki, and Taiyo

Moved the four old CLs (now CMs) to Babeldoap. They have great troop and supply capacity which would help with them being used in Fast Transport TF.
