Capital and Regional Capitals influence radius

Post by DaBree »

Hey everyone. Sorry if this is posted somewhere else. I have looked.

I was wondering if anyone knew about how many sectors or the area the Capital and regional capitals cover in reducing corruption.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I think the area depends on the difficulty of the game (the higher the difficulty, the smaller the area.) At any rate, it's pretty small, I would count on corruption reduction in the immediate system, and a little bit outside of it, but not sector-wide.

How would we test the effect on corruption?

Have a bunch of colonies, collect the corruption % just before building the facility and immediately after. Comparing them should give you an idea of how well the facility works.

Regardless, in late game, usually most of your money is going to come from a few good colonies. Those would be good candidates for your regional capitals. The colonies in those system would benefit as well.

Since you can only build three for your own empire, your best usage of regional capitals is building one on the AI homeworld of each of the center empires in three CLUSTERS of AI empires. After that you can capture AI empire built regional capitals if they build one. So don't take away the biggest two colonies of potential conquests, and eventually you''ll collect several regional capitals. The influence of a regional capital used to be very very good, but like everything else, has been reduced over the years...
