I've read about these guys. There are clubs of them all over the US at least.

Depending on the crews and firecontrols. If Iowa have veteran crews along with outstanding firecontrol and radars, she would have won the duel. Not sure how standing her crews is, but i know yamato would have the best they can offer. But one thing for sure, the ammos or armour-piercing shells on yamato wasnt that effective. So i could be wrong, just details i red and heard from vary places.

I ran number of naval engagements on silent service 4 and pacific storm allies, it can be 50/50.

This type of combat relies on BBs and how fast you can be with the R/C control.

Well yamato can outrange iowa though, not sure how many yards. Not easy to hit anything out there around twenty miles away, would need very good firecontrol and crew experiences.

Rising Sun, did you watch the video? It is about model ships that shoot BBs at each other.

Nah, a ship you have to scuttle to make it sink? This would completely unbalance the tournament.

I seen it, kinda funny watching those wooden/plastic models shoot those air pressure guns or bb guns. I wanted to try it, but no one to duel except the fishes and people in the waters.

I was talking about another point of views though.

In my game Yamato and Mushusai faced 3 modern US BB in mid 43. I can tell you some of the 16 inch hits on Y and M did not penetrate. All hits by 18.1 I think did. 2 allied BB damaged one badly M had about 10/30/10. Yam 9/0/0 from about 3 big hits that dis not penetrate as far as I remember.

all eventually lost to that most ultimate of weapons....one that no TDS, no armor scheme, no fire control could counter......

Ahhh.

Thank you for bringing back some fond memories from the deep recesses of what passes for my mind. My wife is wondering why I am smiling and starting to get worried.
