disappearing squadrons

Post by pontiouspilot »

DBB #29, Allies....I have had 2 occasions where Squadrons evidently disappeared into thin air when I attempted to transfer them within Australia. The transfer distances where not such that there should be staging time. I have looked for them to no avail. They are not listed as destroyed. Any hints as to where they may be or what type of glitch would cause this?

If they are all damaged, they will move by rail and show up in a couple of turns.

If EHansen is correct, you should be able to find the missing sqns near the top of your airgroup reinforcement queue.

Did you upgrade the airframes before transferring them? That would account for all the planes being in the damaged/maintenance category, unable to fly & dependent entirely on rail movement.

If there is a rail connection all disabled planes will move to the transfer base by rail.

If there is a rail connection and all planes are disabled (as in having just been off loaded from a non-AKV transport) the entire squadron will transfer by rail and will appear in the reinforcement que.

If the base is out of normal transfer range and there is a rail connection, again the entire squadron will transfer by rail, abled and disabled airframes alike and will appear in the reinforcement que.

Go to your reinforcement que and see if they are there.

Happy Hans nailed it....they rode instead of flying....a little bizarre since it was only Brisbane to Townville.

Thanks for the help.

Just like saying its only Quebec to Calgary!

Brisbane to Townsville would be out of range to many SE fighters (690 miles), and as mentioned, if straight off a ship they would still be in packing cases.
