Turning on/off Aircraft upgrades

Post by btd64 »

Michaelm, Is it possible to add a toggle to turn on and off aircraft upgrades and replacements on a global level? Or is it there and I just missed it.[>:] GP

You missed it. Look closer at your choices after clicking on the air unit button on the top menu.

You can even do so for air units that have not yet arrived (there is a toggle to switch to them somewhere) so that you don't have to remember to check on each turn.

The global toggle is in the scenario preferences or options screen. This is accessible ingame with the 2nd or 3rd button in from the left end of the screen at the top.
It can be changed midgame in AI games but I believe not in PBEM games.

Changed in a patch by MichaelM! Yes, you can change it (and for ground units IIRC) in-game in a PBM. I did it in one PBM where my opponent had forgotten to make the agreed setting on starting the scenario. I had been going nuts checking (and sometimes missing) arriving units every turn to protect pools and prioritize replacements to front-line units.

Thanks for the responses. Sometimes you miss the stuff that is right in front of your face. Very common with WITPAE addiction. GP

The best part about that screen is that by using the filters, you can make those changes only to select aircraft types / nationalities as well if desired.

I played around with the settings last night. I do now remember michaelm's patch that added that feature. GP
