Music/sound Bug

Post by Kommissar »

Game version 2.03a

Windows 7, 64bit, Build7601
I7, 920 OC to 3.5Ghz
12 gigs of RAM DDR3

Whenever I finish a game, the end music does not play in full. I'll get maybe 5 seconds of it and then it will completely stop.
This has only happened after I initially uninstalled the game, and reinstalled and applied 2.03a directly. I did a complete uninstall
cleared out registry. My previous installation I installed each successive update to 2.03a and had no bug. Start music plays just fine though.

Can you check the properties of the end theme from 2.03a and from the incremental updates?

Can't do that. I don't have the previous updates and the only update available on the website is the current one.

Okay. Thanks for checking. I'll make sure to pass this along to Rob so we can make sure we have the 2.03a version that works in the 2.04 upload and new master.

Still having the bug with 2.04. However, this may help. When I go into the FX menu while in game and turn on music, I go to another tab and click on FX tab again to make sure "Play music" checkbox stays checked. It does. However after a game finishes, I still only get like 5 seconds of the ending music before it abruptly just stops and goes silent. I go back to the FX tab and the "Play music" option is no longer checked. It looks like the game turns it right back off at some point before or during playing the music for some reason.

I'll check and let Rob know too. Some of these bugs are tough to track down when we can't reproduce, so your detailed reports help.

Templer, can you give us some details? Does it happen all the time. In the FX tab is play music checked? What type of game (PBEM or single player)? Also could use your OS and sound card type.

Thanks.

Thanks. Hate this bug. We saw it pop up once. "Fixed" it and we don't get it now, but apparently there is something triggering it. Is this happening from a clean start only playing a single game?
