Happy Fathers Day...

Post by KG Erwin »

...to all of you dads out there. Hope you have a good time today, however you decide to spend it. [:)]

Here's something I wrote for my dad:

My father is a wonderful man
His wisdom makes me what I am
We disagree on many things
About politics and the songs I sing
His disapproval makes me strong
As neither one of us is wrong

He believes in God and doing what's right
I was raised with this both day and night
He is an immovable stone
And I stand up with my beliefs alone
I love him despite the differences we had
And I am thankful that he is my Dad

With love and respect, your son

Fathers are a wonderful thing. A gift from God. Be sure to tell yours how much you appreciate everything they do for you today.

My seven year old bought me a present with her own money for the first time. It was some chocolate which she then helped me eat :)

I got a how package of the big Reese Peanut Butter Cups [:D], a bag of peanut butter M&Ms and trail mix from my kids. Of course my wife and kids then claimed them. [:(] Oh well, its the thought that counts. [;)]

Since today is my birthday, and yesterday was my sister's (we were born a year apart), we're having cake and homemade ice cream at my dad's place today. If any of you have never had homemade ice cream, it is far superior to the storebought stuff. Since several of my family members (including me) are diabetics, there is no sugar in it. The flavor comes from sugar-free pudding mix, and the sweetener is Splenda. It is incredibly tasty, and guilt-free. [:)]

What is Splenda? How did you get diabetes? Can you get rid of it?

I agree with the fathers day sentiments.  This is my first as a father.  It means more now.  Also KG I know all about the home made ice cream.  UMMMMMMM
