The thing is.... Uruguay are only a fairly average side. Suarez was only 70 to 75% fit and could hardly run. And scores two goals.

Best wishes,
Steve

Good news:

With Costa Rica winning their first match, Italy should now have to go out and try and beat them or they run the risk of Uruguay winning their last game and thus Italy going out.

Bad news:

Assume they do, then Italy and Uruguay can play out a draw even IF England manage to beat Costa Rica - which looks less than likely at the moment.... [&:]

I would use a different word to "finisher", probably "******" and I'm not even English, but being a Man Utd fan possibly colours my judgement [:)]

Take heed to these words, as they will never be uttered by me again.

I hope Italy wins their next two matches...

I think we could have problems with Costa Rica. Historically we are really good at complicate our qualification in world cups.

The german commentator said yesterday that in the WC so far no European team has won against a South American team.
So far he has been correct.

Just hope that Costa Rica is not counted as South American.

Well, in this WC the overall quality of South American teams is quite good IMHO.

Argentina
Chile
Uruguay (very strong forwards, Cavani and Suarez)
Colombia

Brasil did not impress me so much but remains the favourite.

For Europe the only teams that IMVHO could reach the final are Germany and Holland.

Bye.

Really impressed with Costa Rica [:)] They know how to play Pirlo who has had half the touches he had in the first half against England.

Sadly the referee and at least one linesman are totally and utterly out of their depth. Costa Rica had a stonewall penalty [:(] Italy have been offside at least twice...without being offside [:(]

If this result stays as is then Costa Rica are through and one of Uruguay or Italy are going home..... [X(]

If it's Italy and / or England, then they can share the plane with Spain squad [:D]

I would not be surprised if the Italians managed to make it to semi-finals though...

Congrats to Costa Rica. They may yet win all of their group games. This is a great tournament for them.

Bets wishes,

Anyway, the groups:

I am still truly mystified as to how France got that group [:@] Conspiracy, fix, cheats, Platini [:D]

As I was saying........[:D]

Mind you, if England replaced France in that group we would still have 0 points after two games [;)]

You might be right [:(]

Then again I'd never be jealous of Liverpool, the irrational hatred doesn't allow for that [:)]

Shame that England are out.

Anyway the proper World Cup Finals start in a year and a bit - come on Ireland.

Hehehe, I know what you mean. Beckham and ROnaldo sucked untill they left Utd, after that I could agree to that they are rather good players [;)]

Anyway, with England out, there is no reason to watch the world cup anymore. [:(]

Its going to be a long old afternoon for Iran.....

Mind you, they are packing the defence so Argentina have some work to do to break them down.
