Impossible to launch the game on fullscreen

Post by NightmareRarity »

Hello everyone,

My problem is on the title, I push the option in "game option" for play in full screen and now, when I launch the game is directly crashed or sending me back in my desktop ...

Does anyone have the problem ? I can't play anymore already ...[:(]

same as me then, and it work on those settings as well, so must be a steam issue, and not a gaming one, try and post reply back if its sorted / fixed

then,

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_art ... -RUAG-7390

and see if that helps

then have you installed all the requirements as in the CommonRedist folder inside the game directory?

if not please do, if you have, delete the game and reinstall it, making sure the default folder is empty first before you do a reinstall....

that depends on where you got it from i guess, steam of here, if here it's in your save game folder in the dir where you installed the game C: etc etc, or in your docs folder, easy way is to loon inside game folder first, right click on game exe and open file location etc

did steam install any updates?

you don't need to do this tbh, but are you running a admin account?

do you have any antivirus trouble or spyware etc?

are you having any other problems with steam games, or any game?

what vga driver are you running?

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START" 2. click "run" 3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK" 4. check through the tabs and perform all tests 5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

thanks...

That's pretty funny to be honnest ...

I have CC "Panther in the Frog" (no on steam) and if desactivate the option "windowed" I have exactly the same problem that "Gateway to Caen" ! The problem is not steam i guess, maybe my computer don't like the series Close Combat [:D]

I make the test directX no problem has been detected.

Thanks for you help in any case [;)]

try running the game in compatibility mode, it shouldn't be needed as it fully supports your o/s as beens tested working 100% with it, but not all hardware as been tested, so there is always some that cause a problem, mostly its hardware or o/s related problems and not game related tbh

It could be something related with your graphic card drivers.
Could you please attach a DxDiag report file?
Thanks.

Try playing in Windowed mode, but as far as I understand you can't switch to Windowed mode as the game crashes to the desktop.

Run the file attached in this post for enabling the game Windowed mode. The will also set the window size to 1024x768. It will permit you to change and check in which resolutions, you can run the game, without experiencing the issue.

For running the attached file, you'll have to unzip it and then double click on the extracted file. This will edit some of the game keys in the Windows registry. So, please permit the editing.

This is just for 64bit Windows versions.
