The Hidden Gem

Post by zakblood »

The hidden gem, which is the editor, for those that haven't read the manual, and just jumped straight in...

Editor, Close Combat:

Gateway to Caen comes with a host of pre-made battles, operations, and campaigns, but you can also create your own using the Scenario Editor.

The Scenario Editor allows you to design your own Battle, Operation, or Campaign scenarios using the Strategic map and Battle Groups available in Close Combat: Gateway to Caen.

The general process for creating a custom scenario is as follows: » Slide the left bracket on the Date Bar to the date and turn you want the scenario to start on. When you release the bracket over a date / turn, and that becomes the first turn in your scenario. » Choose the map(s) you want to use by clicking on each map to set initial control and supply conditions. » Slide the right bracket on the Date Bar to the date / turn you want to be the last turn played in the scenario. If you release the bracket over a date / turn, that becomes the last playable turn in your scenario. » Select the day and turn you want a Battle Group to arrive, and then drag and drop the Battle Group icon onto a map to include the Battle Group in your scenario.

The Map,

now i may have your attention?

if not move along, there's nothing here to see :)

from here if your still reading this, open up your game directory and read the manual, the editor lets you alter and make your own battles / ops and even campaigns, for your own use or upload to your friends.

quick, easy and very simple, even i did it....

not happy that you don't have enough tanks? enough troops? the wrong sort of troops, maybe a few more more would help, in the battle or whatever your playing, you think that a different piece of equipment may help you, thats fine, use the editor and give it to your setup, next battle will be different.

once you have done / played all the default battles ops and campaigns etc, the editor will extend your game for as long as you want to make your own, easy as well to install and play others, there's no limits to this apart from your mind and design ...

battle on, can you change the course of history? or make the ultimate what if campaigns?

[:-] don't let your friends know about it, until you have made your own, played it, and beat it, then share it, see them smile [8D]

well, that was a waste,

i missed,

they moved as it was called for,

ah well send in some troops, they won't last long.

Image

with support mind you, as they are now defended in that house and the cover will make it hard for my infantry to take, can do it, but the losses in troops and morale will be high,

better to send in a tank!

got none?

want some?

use the editor [8|]

i did
