Frisian Flag
Played the first version of Frisian Flag a couple months ago and got my butt handed to me. Played it again this morning after Tomcat84 updated it to take advantage of new capabilities in the game. Result - I got my butt kicked again, but had fun in the meantime[:D]
The download can be found here, and there is a good outline of the scenario as well. tm.asp?m=3490799
So the basic game plan is to schwack a bunch of targets while defeating the OpFor Air and AD threat. There are some interesting airspace constraints, a good mix of aircraft, weapons and targets, and some superb overlays. There is a Dynamic Target set up as well, which you get info on later.
My plan: The first time round a couple months back I opted for the counter-clockwise 'bomb-train'. This time I opted for a North and South push. My strikes are going to be heavier in the South, I don't like the idea of MiGs regenerating so the AF at Helgoland is going to get a bit of love. Wave 1 - South: SEAD, Helgoland AF, and Helgoland Tgts. Wave 2 - North & South, the three other target areas. Wave 3, 2x Gripens North, 2 South, DT and sweep-up.
OCA: Set up one patrol box North and South, turned 1/3 OFF, turned investigate OFF, EMCON tight. North - 4xF-15s & 2 German Typhoons; South 4x Finnish Hornets & 2x German Typhoons. I'll micro them and push them ahead of each wave.
Strike: I launched all the bombers in pairs to a holding box, launching the Gripens last as they had the DT and sweep up task. Following the basic game plan I'll push them through as the flow goes.
36 AC total with an E-3 in support (not under control)

RE: Frisian Flag
First move:
A North/South AAW sweep.
F-15's North, F-18's South. Typhoons in depth.
Lesson's learned:
F-18's have a hard time against Su-27/30's and Fulcrums
Turn DECM On - I think you need to do this individually by A/C
Result of first sweep:
F-15's 0 for 2
F-18's 2 for 2 (big trouble in the South!) should have sent in the Typhoons

RE: Frisian Flag
Helgoland Strike
After playing cat & mouse a bit, I finally get in JDAM range of the SA-11 & Roland (which pops up very late - nasty!)
Killer 1&2, (Dutch F-16s) with JDAM Mk-82 - SEAD
Byte 3&4, (RAF Typhoons) with Pave way Mk-82 - Airbase - Too many runways and Access points, so I'll drop a Mk-82 on the two tarmac spaces and two into the hanger.
Archer 1&2, (Dutch F-16s) with JDAM Mk-84s - Helgoland tgts: The big ones, Coms hub, 2 piers & large bldg
King 1&2, (US F-16s) with JDAM Mk 82s - Helgoland: the small targets, Diesel tanks, 2 Med bldgs, one spare bomb
Mig 29 launches and takes out an Archer, the spare bomb goes to a pier - all targets destroyed. Airbase neutralized.

RE: Frisian Flag
The air battle in the South is going badly and that slows down my deep strikes there. So the strike at Flensburg goes in first, essentially putting my plan out of balance. Have detected some SA-11s up there as well so tag on a SEAD group.
Killer 2&3, (Dutch F-16s) with JDAM Mk-82 - SEAD
Norman 1&2, (Norwegean F-16s) with JDAM Mk-84s - Flensburg tgts: The big ones, Power Stn, Large Pier (2 bombs), VLg bldg
King 1&2, (US F-16s) with JDAM Mk 82s - Flensburg: the small targets, Diesel tanks x2 , 1 Med bldgs, one spare bomb
Things get ugly fast. F-15s are out of missiles and heading home, one Typhoon has been drawn South, one Typhoon left in the North and he is out of position. The SEAD flight gets jumped by 2x Su30s and didn't see what hit them! The Typhoon takes care of things but the SA-11 takes care of a Blk-52. I should have double banked the Power plant and not the Pier.

The Egress gets very interesting as the 3 F-16s remaining in the North strike (2x Norgi, 1x US) prove the meaning of Multi-role! The Typhoon is long gone with empty missile racks and the egressing Falcons get jumped by 4xSu30s result is 1 Norgi down but all 4 Sov's eating dirt!

RE: Frisian Flag
The Southern Strike goes in at about the same time as the 2 Gripen's in the North take out the DT, then swing North to drop one final Mk-82 on the Power plant to no real effect.
End result in Flensburg is OK but not a clean sweep. Power plant burning, one building left standing.

RE: Frisian Flag
The fur-ball in the South continues. The Typhoon that diverted South took out an OECM bird but it was quickly replaced.
Near simultaneous strikes go in on Busum and Cuxhaven with a mix of A/C using the same distribution as before, Mk-84s on large and Mk-82s on small targets. Problem is that another SAM has popped up South of Cuxhaven and there is a flock of Su-27s and Migs coming in from the SE! Time to drop my bombs and run.
Results generally good but I lose a couple AC in the run.

Cuxhaven BDA. A few targets left to clean up and I dispatch the Gripen's to do just that. I also call back some F-16s to give AAW support - and they die!

RE: Frisian Flag
End result: Average - 45 Pts
Loss of 20 NATO A/C out of 36 - not good!
Lessons Learned:
-DECM on!
-Auto Evade should be ON. It is set to Off at scenario start and I never really thought about it but since the only AAW weapons available (AMRAAM, ASRAAM and Sidewinder) are all Fire and Forget, you can evade all day long without worrying about radar lock.
-use the Hornets for backup AAW not lead with them.
-JDAM is not an ideal SEAD weapon, if you don't have something with longer range, you need to dance with the SAM Btys and get them to expend all their ready ammo first - looking for better ideas on this, I probably have it wrong.
-One bomb - one target worked except for some of the very big ones. Identify these early and add extra resources.
-I'm tempted to light everything up early, Radars, ECM etc. They seem to know when your coming anyway. Could be wrong there as well[:-]
This scenario is quite fun. Difficult but challenging.
Thanks.

RE: Frisian Flag
Thanks for the very nice AAR!
My only comments are:
-it seems you did not have the overlays enabled for the screenshots which I thought is too bad, especially since you mentioned them in your AAR intro. I think it is a nice but underused feature, especially for AARs like this.
- the King flight is actually Polish Vipers, not US

I had the overlays up but then the game crashed and I didn't put them up again. I agree that they are a really nice feature and the ones you include in this game are fantastic, I should have had them in the screenshots...
