New Game Purchase, Immediate unhandled exception thrown upon first use.

I just purchased and installed your game. I ran the game, I clicked start new game, this is what I got. I would like to hope that I did not just flush 50$ down the pooper for another fail 4x game in a long list of garbage but this is not starting well at all. Now instead of playing my new $50 game I am signing up on random forums, posting dxdiags and hoping someone in a few days will have a solution for this crap.......Joy!

You got into the game and it dies from the menu?

If you did not get the game started, the culprits could be lack of windows media player and internet explorer.
If you got inside, it is very strange if it crashes on a new game without any mods.

With this game it is usually more of a risk for free time going down the drain, than money going down the drain [;)]
