Star Trek Universe v1.4.1

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but work on Star Trek Universe has been suspended.

Igard has kindly asked me to remove all of his files pertaining to the Picard Era mod. Note: I did not ask for permission before releasing this mod. I’m respecting his wishes and removing this mod.

I may continue work on Star Trek Universe with new assets, but this will take some time.

I downloaded your Star Wars mod and plan to check it out later this week or this weekend. I'll post any feedback in your thread. Very excited times. [8D]

Updated the mod to version 1.1.

New in v1.1:
• Added star trek ship names (Work from Antarian).
• Added the Klingon Great Hall as a regional capital (Work from stanstill)
• Updated a handful of ship images (Work from Antarian).
• Updated to Das Chrome 1.4 (Work from Das123).
• Reduced military ship size back to more reasonable levels (left some militant races at 10% or 20% increase).
• Fixed an error with the Romulan ship images not loading.


Let me know if you run into any problems.


Known Issues:
Research/component are not based on race. All tech is open to all races.
Cardassians & Zalkonian don't work atm.

Hi, is this mod therefore compatible with the just released DW Universe? Not entirely sure from the title; apologies in advance if I am wrong.

I'm getting an error when trying to download from MediaFire (an error occurred). Could you please upload it again or something?

Updated the mod to v1.2. Hopefully the new version will fix your download issue Solarius Scorch. Let me know if it doesn't.

tony luke - This version is compatible with Distant Worlds Universe.

New in v1.2:
• Added crystalline entity.
• Added HD environments 1.1 (Work from nvek).
• Added the new research from ‘The Ancient Galaxy’ theme.
• Added race specific research (work in progress; open to suggestions).
• Fixed problem with policies not working with a few races.
• Fixed problem with open research for all races.
• Fixed issue with Cardassians & Zalkonian. They should work now.

Federation cruiser image is a JPG, reverts to base game.

New in v1.3
• Added/edited Galactopedia resource entrees (Work from STPE mod).
• Name change & updated ‘about’ file.
• Fixed an issue with ship images (Thanks necaradan666 for reporting).
• Fixed an issue with influence not showing properly.

Mediafire is throwing a fit over songs in the file. It won't load a captcha and eventually says you can buy Ron Jone's Star Trek soundtrack on Amazon.

Would it be possible to load it on another website?

Same here, it's said Permission Denied. I rather other website that let you download nice and smooth, freely
without had sign up or all those trouble register, survey that I had no desire to fill out.

necaradan666, Thanks again for spotting some issues. I will have a look and fix this for the next patch.

As a temporary fix, you can remove the barren rock graphics located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Distant Worlds Universe\Customization\Star Trek Universe (v1.3)\images\environment\planets
Note: just delete the whole folder for now, but I believe it's 'Barren-0021' causing this problem.

• Removed unnecessary assets to lower file size by ~75MB.
• Fixed graphic issue with barren moons (Thanks necaradan666 for reporting).

heh, I just trimmed all the unnecessary assets locally too.

You spelled environment wrong in the 'about' text for the theme.

Why did you add the Ancient Galaxy research? I don't think it can be unlocked without the events.

Thanks for catching the spelling error and let me know if I missed any other unnecessary assets. I've been playing for a few hours as the Federation and it feels pretty stable/good from my perspective. I'd like to continue tying up loose ends and making general improvements, so please offer any feedback/suggestions you have.

Edit: All of the Ancient Galaxy research will work in this mod without any events.

I plan to work on/improve:
Intro movie (likely ST:TNG intro)
Rebalance racial bonuses
Galactopedia race entrees
Rename resources to better fit the ST universe
New governments - probably stealing [:'(] ideas from dwaine's mod.
Galaxy map based on Star Trek
Races start in proper solar systems - I'm not sure this one is possible, does anyone have any ideas?
