Extended Universe - Greatest mods combined into one Theme
RE: Extended Universe - Greatest mods combined into one Theme
I also use Shark7's Royal Navy ShipNames mods and Sirian's Messages mod. I highly suggest you add the Messages mod to your combined Extended Universe mod as it is a big improvement on the stock messages. The ShipNames is personal taste and probably shouldn't be part of a combined mod pack.
Oh yes, thanks for taking the time to make this combined mod! Since you can't select multiple mods in the Theme area, having one that combines a bunch of the popular ones best is a good idea. It makes it way easier to swap out one or two mods that someone might like better than the ones you have.

really hope you asked the creators of the mods first.

@ pycco
hmmm that would have been ideal but it appears some of the modders aren't active anymore and this was more in response to someone asking for an easy access downloadable theme with the mods bundled. Also I knew there would be a influx of steam users and I am guessing they might not go through the lengths a typical Matrix forum goer would to get the complete experience.
I did make mentions in the OP that I had not done any modding and I did credit every mod / piece of the mods that are in the Theme. However if anyone has an issue with this I could very well understand and delete the post.
@ Moat_Man
Hey good catch with Sirian's component mod, I am actually in the middle of a wicked Hearts of Iron 3 game so unfortunately I haven't even played a match of DW: Universe yet, just setting my Theme so I'm good to go after my HoI3 game.
Also uploading a new compiled Theme with Sirian's messages and v1.2 of his components mod.

I found that the only a few messages work, the size for them does not give you a lot of room to work with, reworking them to the same sizes in the ui/messages folder only a few are the correct size for the images, as I found out ... [8|]
Just a taster from the Darkverse ... [8D]
Darkspire
Messages did not work so well, only a few of these look correct in game when resized to the correct dimensions.
The events folder works though, event images look great on that one [:)]

RE: Extended Universe - Greatest mods combined into one Theme
Just wanted to say thank you to all the individual mod creators as well as Brone for compiling them into a single file. These mods help improve the experience a great deal!
RE: Extended Universe - Greatest mods combined into one Theme
ShaBahNakk spotted that the Universe expansion has re-ordered the components names and thus affected Sirian's component mod so the names have now been corrected.
Das's "Das Chrome UI Mods" has been replaced his his latest version, v1.2.
Now included is a readme text file that gives full credits to the modders and their individual mods that make the theme a whole.

Thank you for keeping this mod compilation up to date and adding the Messages mod. The component renumbering issue was a good catch ShaBahNakk.
@Brone
One final component issue to fix and one clarification for the OP. First the issue, you are now missing the image file for component 129 (Stinger Beam - green rod-like looking sorta thing) from the base Extended Universe mod by Haree78. Second the clarification, now that Das123 has added cursors to his mod you are no longer using the GEM v2.4 cursors. I checked the image files to confirm. To avoid confusion you can remove the reference to cursors from the GEM v2.4 section of the OP.

RE: Extended Universe - Greatest mods combined into one Theme
Just FYI I renamed all and duplicated a few of the planet image files from GEM 2.4 locally to have them match properly with Universe files when I noticed a normally coloured ocean planet as I was playing. I assume the expansion re-ordered some file names as mentioned above in regards to components.

Thank you for keeping this updated for us newbies.
Neca, did you find another problem that needs to be fixed, or was this a personal preference sort of thing?

Yep looks like images 4, 6, 7, 11, 14 were not replaced in the original universe files as they are missing in GEM...
RE: Extended Universe - Greatest mods combined into one Theme
Uploading a new compiled theme. I added component 129 from GEM back into the components folder and I have updated Das's Blue Chrome mod to v1.3.
I also looked at the planet folders for DW Universe base game and the GEM mod folders and it appears that either Universe has added a lot more planets or the base GEM mod is missing them. I guess you have three options, leave it the way it is and have a mix of GEM planets and base game planets. You could copy the Gem planets a few extra times and rename those copies to match their missing counter-parts. Or just delete the planets folder [:(]

I fixed all the GEM planets and overlays in the GEM thread. Here's the link:

RE: Extended Universe - Greatest mods combined into one Theme
Nice, is the combine theme compat with the 1.9.5.2 update?
RE: Extended Universe - Greatest mods combined into one Theme
Also, then GEM "stars" folder does not cause any issue that I can detect.

Re: Extended Universe - Greatest mods combined into one Theme
Hi,
Is there a way to check you have the mod enabled and it is fiully enabled and working in game?
i.e. is there a version number or some other check I can make to see that all is now installed and running? I am new to DW:U so I can't automatically see what's new as I bought the vanilla game and immediately added recommended mods via the combined mod.
cheers.
