SPM v. 0.7.18 is now available

Post by Nacho84 »

Hello all,

The latest update for SPM is now available! Please download it directly from the game's launcher using the auto-updater tool. Alternatively, you can download and install the file manually from this link.

This is a small patch that features a handful of changes we managed to implement before heading to the Home of the Wargamers 2014 event last week. We're already working on a new patch that will be released soon, featuring gameplay changes and a lot new more content. As always, make sure you check the full changelog here to get a complete overview of the new version.

Looking forward to hear your feedback!

Yes, it's a bit old, but it just went live today so I couldn't announce it earlier. It only features a handful of changes we managed to make between 0.7.17 and last Tuesday, which was when I headed off to HoW 2014.

I know you've been hard at it, but what's the eta for this being considered "done" (as much as any game is these days)? Or at least an eta for the US and Soviet campaigns?

If the auto-updater refuses to work, try installing the patch manually from the link.

The plan is to release an update very soon featuring quite a lot of soviet animations. Afterwards we'll work on multiplayer along with some UI tweaks. The single player race to the Moon campaigns will come afterwards.

We cannot provide an ETA because, even though the final goal is clear, priorities change on a weekly basis depending on the feedback we get from the updates.

Yes, we want to focus on gameplay first. The museum obviously is an important feature, but we want to have the gameplay elements first so that we have more time to tweak them if they don't turn out to be as good as we expected.

Hello Templer,

Sorry, I'm not following you. What do you mean by "What do you miss?".

Notice that the game's launcher will display all the 16:9 resolutions supported by your graphics card/monitor combination.

Hi Nacho84,

1. Typo on my part.
I wanted to write: "What do or what did I miss."
I was in fact inactiv in the forums for a while and thought maybe I have something overlooked reading that in the current versions is preliminary only one Resolution in use.

2. Here is my Problem with V 0.7.18:

Hello Templer,

No worries, welcome back [:)]

The launcher will list all the 16:9 resolutions supported by your graphics card/monitor combination. That's something created by Unity (the game engine we're using), so we don't have any control over it. All we do is specify the supported aspect ratios (16:9) for SPM and the launcher will list all the supported resolutions that match said aspect ratio.

Are you running the game in a different computer than the one you used to? What's the maximum 16:9 resolution supported by your computer?

Think there is just one resolution provided in the game at the moment until it gets past testing stage, used to be 1024x768 now obviously its changed to a higher albeit widescreen one. Me, I hope that 1280x1024 will eventually be supported because that what my monitors native resolution is, have had a bit of a problem with some indie games and that res - most people seem to do widescreen these days and forget that many people still have 'normal' monitors.
