RE: GD1938 Game 12 "Fast game"
The Royal Navy gained control of the Western Mediterranean. Everything flying the Italian Ensign now rest's at the bottom of the Mediterranean. Ship/Sub losses stand at 2 enemy ships for one British ship.
French Forces pushed into Spain and Libya.
British Capital ships engaged Japanese naval vessels of the Coast of Dutch East India. All Japanese Ships were sunk with no losses.
Brave Czech forces facing overwhelming odds resist to the bitter end.
Soviet Forces have moved into the ethnically German Baltic States. Though the western allies do not approve of forced occupations we feel that is a matter for the Soviets to resolve.
Two Wolf Packs have been hunted down and destroyed the search continues for any others.

Are we like late Rome, infatuated with past glories, ruled by a complacent, greedy elite, and hopelessly powerless to respond to changing conditions?

Press release
Joint Chiefs of Staff of the USA
The United States continues at peace, and we have decided not to impose economic sanctions on the Japanese. We reserve the right to do so in the future as we are disturbed by the very rapid pace of the war. The United States has interests in the Far East. Our friendship with China is recognized, and the Philippines are important to us as we prepare for the future independence of these islands.
The waters around the Philippines are roiled and we had to conduct extensive anti-piracy operations. We cannot speculate on the success of these actions as they typically occur at night.

The Soviet Union continues to support the Baltic Countries cry for freedom. Operations are nearly over in that area of the world.

What a fiasco! During the anti-piracy operations the USA seem to have accidentally sunk some Imperial Japanese ships. Despite our apologies Japan chose to treat the operations as an act of war. The war in China is also heating up again. Surely there should be a way to find peace in the Far East.
Both the Chinese and the Americans defended themselves, and the Chinese revealed their new armored forces. Losses in the China theater were severe, with both sides suffering, why should this continue?
China and the USA signed a formal treaty of alignment, and are now full allies.

Game note : On review the "anti pirate operation" the USA used is going to be outlawed. Attacks on ships by neutrals will no longer be allowed.
We are going to play turn 7 over again. China and Japan are in a ceasefire. The USA is isolationist, and USN officers must watch as RN destroyers are sunk off Philippine shores.
I have done the turn over for USA and China, and we are now ready for the Axis turns.

In defense of the Americans the Japanese were flying the Skull and Cross Bones. In future if the Japanese wish to avoid incidents like this they should avoid wearing eye patch's wooden leg's and having parrots perched on their shoulders.

RE: GD1938 Game 12 "Fast game"
I would say it was the parrots, but actually it was watching your poor destroyer hounded down between Manila and Palawan.
The USN and RN are close, and that was tough

The Emperor of Japan want to express his deepest sadness for the unlucky fate of the British navy. Recently at dinner he dropped a remark that it would be best for all if Britain would send its destroyers back home.

Yep that Destroyer absorbed a lot of attacks I guess that won't be replicated on replay so my losses may in fact be a lot higher, which is a shame considering how much displacement the Japanese have in the water.
Still you have to admire the crew of HMS FU they certainly did live up to the ship's name.

Replayed turn 7. Turned out better I sank all the Japanese flat tops (Joking)
The United Kingdom keep's up the pressure in Mediterranean. With Large scale shore bombardments no sign of the remainder of the Italian Navy. I guess they have retreated to port for the rest of war to tell tales of their glorious victory over the unarmed French Merchant Fleet.
French Victory in North Africa as the French push towards Tripoli. No sign of movement by the Italians in the Western Desert.
United Kingdom naval casualties in the south China Seas not as bad as expected. But the Tiger of the east is a long way from being tamed. So its going to be a long road.
Two more Wolf Packs located and destroyed in the Atlantic more Destroyers allocated to meet the threat.

President Roosevelt continues to try and get the American people to take their proper role in the world, but more expensive education programs are needed. The USA worked on industrial production.

Things continue to be quiet in China. Japan says they will reevaluate their position if China and the USSR reach an understanding, which we are not anticipating

The Emperor of Japan visited the new garden that had been build at the palace at Tokio. During the walk in the park the Emperor remarked that he cannt imagine that the people in China are really lucky living in a regime of surpression. He wonders whether times might bring a change for the Chinese people.

Czechoslovakia on its knee's awaiting the Killer blow, the west is powerless to intervene.
France prepares for the worst. And enjoys more success in the North African desert small consolation. For the Maelstrom about to break from the east.
The British and the Few French in the far East prepare a shield against the rising sun.
Less success only one Wolf Pack located and destroyed the U-Boats are becoming more elusive.
France and the United Kingdom make peace with the Soviet Union.

The Soviet Government notes with concern the presence of armored units of the Japanese Army on its borders. The aggressive war like Japanese have attacked all their neighbors except the Soviet Union. Is this a prelude to an attack on the Motherland?
If the Japanese want tensions to drop we suggest they remove military units from our borders.

Sad news Paris has fallen the only mercy was that no terror bombing was necessary as has been seen in Czechoslovakia.
France continues to be victorious in North Africa scant consolation.
Another Wolf Pack hunted unfortunately the RN was only able to contain and not destroy.
Tensions mount in far east news coming out of China, talk of Japanese troops building up on the Chinese/Japanese borders within China.
The British report a air strike on the port of Venice, using carrier born Torpedo planes. Pilots report heavy flak and enemy fighter cover thwarts raid.

There were no attacks, on either side, in China this turn. The Japanese did move into areas that were off limits according to the ceasefire. China recognizes with pleasure the other nations taking notice of our plight.
China wants peace, but China also wants a nation reunited with the territory stolen from us. The government of Japan must reconsider the path of aggression it has taken.

Diplomatic note from the Japanese Foreign Ministery to the Sovjet Foreign Office:
"Japan is not interested in any tensions between our nations. Good relations and peaceful neighbourhood is what Japan is looking for. Hwever, Japan has to take care that its borders are secure. Border units should garantee this. They are strongly adviced not to inflict any incident that might cause any protest of SU or give SU any reason to be concerned. Japanese navy was given order to stay as close to Japanese coastline as possible. Let us express our highest hopes that relationship between our nations might be always be peaceful and trustful."

Small battles are waged across the Globe no telling results or move's France has fallen, the heart of France has been moved to North Africa where it still beats Vive L'France !!!!!
Movements by the Japanese have become strangely muted, the United Kingdom feels the strength there but where is it being directed ?
Czechoslovakia still holds Bratislava remains under Czech control, food is scarce many go hungry but take pride in their freedom however short lived.
Neutral Switzerland attacked !!!!! the world must know now that the flag of neutrality will not save them.
