A quick ping on 2.04

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

A quick ping on 2.04

Post by CapnDarwin »

Testing is going well and we have corrected a few outstanding items and one real killer that Rob may have nailed tonight thanks to Jack54.

We also are working to update the 3 existing Mod Guides to a 2.04 standard. That's where my 3 day weekend will be. Plus needing to write up a what's new in 2.04 doc with pictures. A number of new features or feature improvements to cover and also some gameplay changes to outline. Then If I'm still alive work to finish Mod Guide 4 on Data Editing. Oh yeah, and get the Origins scenario tested and information updated for that.

Anyhow, we hope to get 2.04 into the Matrix update cycle next week after the holiday. If that changes for some reason I'll let you all know.[8D]

The movement type and direction indicators have been there from the start. They show unit direction of movement and if the triangle is black it is a road type movement with little combat readiness/utility or red indicating the units are in a combat formation (spaced out and ready to fight). Easy enough to miss those with all the action going on at times. I don't pay too much attention to them myself unless I'm plotting arty fire. Then I look to see where the target is going.

VP counters - appears to be a NATO symbol (so I'm assuming a similar WP one is available)
Unit tab shows type (Recce in the image)
Stand-off range is reduced (down to 2 from 3-6)

They look like mine so it's probably an oversight but if OTS want to make them official they have my permission.

Yes Plodder they are yours and I am sure it was an oversight on Capn D's part. We would not use them officially without your permission. I do know that Capn D really likes them and has been using them in his own game play.

Personally, I think they are pretty good too.
