Very nice pics, it's sort of an international game of who can get their photos with the Bear's.

Here's an F-22 escorting one.

Nice!

I wonder if the Bears do request appearances for squadron selfies?

Those are some gorgeous pictures.

Random question.... do Canada's front line fighters still carry Sparrows? Those don't look like AMRAAM or Meteor fins.

It's neat how there are pics of fighters with Bears going back to Crusaders and Phantoms, all the way up to Eurofighters and Raptors.

Yea, the Bear's have a long legacy, like the B-52 does in U.S. inventories. I'm curious how many hours those Bears have on their airframe, it's got to have added up over the years.

I don't think there's too many planes that haven't escorted the Bears lol.

Thanx for those pics Almighty, perfectly illustrates what I was thinking of when I posted earlier. According to the wiki, all of the bomber version Bears in service now are of the Tu-95MS version built in the 1980s through the end of production in 1994. Still, that puts the newest air frames at 20 years old!

I do remember there was a long period of inactivity until Putin announced that Bear patrols would restart in 2007. So even with 20+ year old air frames there might be only 7 years of steady flying between the 55 combat ready Tu-95MS aircraft Russia has. (again according to wiki)

Young whipper-snappers compared to the BUFF... the last of which rolled off the line in '62.

Thanks for the info sakai, I did not realise the bears were manufactured so recently. The buffs definately are older by comparison

I wonder if the Russian Fighter Guys have a collection of Buff pictures like that.

Norwegian F-16 regularly have to take off from Bodø airbase to meet these guys outside the Norwegian coast. No drama, the Russians just want to show us they have money again and the Norwegian airforce scramble F-16 just to show we're not sleeping :)

Pretty sure the only plane not to escort a BEAR, belonged to the Wright Brothers.
USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) 1990-1994.
