Question regarding AI actions

Time of Fury spans the whole war in Europe and gives players the opportunity to control all types of units, ground, air and naval. Not only that, each player will be able to pick a single country or selection of countries and fight his way against either the AI or in multiplayer in hotseat or Play by E-Mail. This innovative multiplayer feature will give player the chance to fight bigger scenarios against many opponents, giving the game a strategic angle that has no equal in the market. The game uses Slitherine’s revolutionary PBEM++ server system.

Question regarding AI actions

Post by Christolos »

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and have a question regarding the viewing of what the AI is doing during its turn.

I don't quite understand the gameplay preference settings (they are not well explained in the manual...) and can't see what the AI is doing/attacking during its turn because each time it does, most of the map is obscured by the combat results (bombardment, airstrike, and land attacks) pop up and I can't see what is being attacked.

Is there a way to have the results pop up after the attacks are done? Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

C

Ok, I figured out how to have the AI combat results not show using the appropriate interface preference setting.

If you want to modify some of the game files, better displays are possible.

Thanks [:)] I may give these a try later after I get more familiar with the game.

I played some CEAW GS 2.1 in the past against the AI and found the AI to be flawed, particularily it its inability to escorts troopships/convoys...

I am hoping the AI in TOF does a better job but I know the best way to play these games is against another human opponent.

TOF has similar problems with AI convoy routing, sending them through dangerous areas for which, as yet, there has been no fix. I have always played these games against the AI and feel that, with appropriate house rules and small mods to make the game more realistic and challenging, you can get a better game. TOF does have issues, but I have enjoyed playing it, despite the difficulties.
